Manchester City at Everton on Wednesday night is a match-up of two very historic clubs who reside in arguably the most football tradition rich part of the world.

The Citizens and Toffees have met on 185 previous occasions, dating all the way back to 1899. It’s an extremely evenly matched series as the blue side of Liverpool have emerged victorious 68 times while the blue side of Manchester has won 70 times. However, this match-up of the two clubs that have been historically been regarded as the second team in town figures to be very one-sided.

MANCHESTER CITY

The highest scoring team in the league, and by a considerable margin with a very in elite form Sergio Aguero will take on a back line that is very banged up by injuries right now. So it’s easy to understand why City are so heavily tipped to win this one.

Let’s take a look at who Pep Guardiola might slot in his first XI for this one.
