In staying with players who may still depart this summer, United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly wants defenders Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo to stay until January, but won’t stand in the way of their departure either. In other words, it’s up to Darmian and Rojo themselves to decide their futures; reportedly. Both defenders are very unlikely to see themselves getting regular first team selection at Old Trafford, unless there are injuries in the back line.
Given the role that they have played in the team under Mourinho, it’s apparent that they must move elsewhere to be in the starting XI regularly.
Finally, we turn towards another defender, and one who was strongly linked with a move out the exit door at the beginning of the window in Luke Shaw. The English international have overcome so much during his time at Old Trafford and he absolutely made the utmost of his starting assignment in the season opener. Shaw hopes that this is just the start of many more exciting things to come in 2018-19.
