Wednesday night brings a massive UEFA Champions League group C clash as Paris Saint-Germain will host Liverpool in a match with knockout round qualification on the line for both of these massive clubs.
Both sides have spent massive amounts of money in recent transfer windows and thus not advancing beyond the group stages of the UCL would be a cataclysmic outcome. You can expect both teams to be extremely focused for the midweek tussle, given how much is on the line. A win and some help on this next Champions League match day, for either team, would put them on very solid footing going forward.
The main storyline for this match is of course the fitness of PSG pair Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Both the teenager that many football observers have said could be the next Ronaldo or Messi and the world’s most expensive player picked up knocks during the international break.
Both had been initial injury doubts, but now it looks like both are expected to feature.
Flipping over to the visitors, Defender Joe Gomez is expected to be fit after missing the Watford clash due to an ankle injury. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster remain long term absentees while midfielder Adam Lallana missed the 3-0 win over Watford at Vicarage Road due to a minor injury.
He is not expected to feature in this one.
