The January transfer window is only four days old, but we’re starting to see more action now as Liverpool FC and AFC Bournemouth are getting some business done. The Anfield outfit has sent sparingly used forward Dominic Solanke to the south coast, for £19 million plus add-ons according to multiple reports.
Solanke, who has been out with a minor muscular injury lately and hasn’t featured for LFC this season, has officially said his goodbyes to the Merseyside club on social media:
Just wanted to say a big thank you to @LFC for the past couple of seasons. I’ve learnt a lot that will benefit me in the near future! All the staff, fans and players welcomed me with open arms and I am thankful. I wish you all the best this season and in the future??. #YNWA

He’s also done the industry standard “sitting down and holding the pen above the contract” photo-opp, which Bournemouth has posted on their social media, along with their club statements.
“I think the club is going somewhere,” Solanke is quoted by the official Bournemouth website.
“Over the past few years, they have been really good in the Premier League and had some good positional finishes as well. I think it’s a good club to be at, especially for someone of my age.”
Added Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe: “Dominic is technically gifted, very athletic and has the physical profile that will give us something different in our front line. He has done very well for England at various age groups, has a huge amount of potential and I’m really excited about working with him.”

Solanke, 21, is a Chelsea academy product who moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2017, and has earned one cap with the England senior side. Additionally, Liverpool have agreed to loan 27-year-old right back Nathaniel Clyne to the Cherries, with the deal being announced just minutes ago.
He told club website channel afcbTV: “I’m really excited by this opportunity. It’s great chance for me to come and play football.
“I’ve spoken to the manager and we’ve talked about what we can achieve for the remainder of the season. It’s a great club with a great story. I can’t wait to get going.”
Added Howe: “Nathaniel is vastly experienced and has the benefit of being able to play in a couple of positions for us.”

“With Simon Francis’ injury we felt it was important to bring someone in capable of filling that void, and it’s great to have Nathaniel on board.
“Naturally, he wants to play football and is very keen to bring his attributes to the team. We’re excited about what he can deliver for us.”
