Liverpool are currently sitting a top the Premier League table, and by a very comfortable margin. It appears that the only team left standing between the Reds and long-awaited glory is Leicester City. Of course, anything can happen and the season is still a marathon, so they may decide to beef up the roster in the January transfer window.
When you’re on the cusp of ending a drought that goes all the way back to 1990, you can’t take any chances or get complacent. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool will spend next month, if the opportunity presents itself.
“We are pretty much always ready – if we can do something which helps us, we will try to do it. If not we will not,” Klopp said.
“Is the January transfer window more difficult than the other window? I don’t know. I think the summer window is really difficult because of the different moments when it closes in Europe. That makes it really difficult.”
“We’ll see how that goes in the future but the summer window only hurts English clubs and doesn’t help them. It’s not cool.”
That all said, let’s see who Klopp might select amongst the players he already has tomorrow night when his side takes on rival Everton in the Merseyside Derby. Team news for both sides: go to this link
