Jurgen Klopp led Liverpool to an excessively entertaining, utterly enthralling victory over Manchester City, ending the 22 game winning streak of Pep Guardiola’s side.

After the game, Klopp deemed the match as potentially historical and also a nice commercial for the Premier League. The German, giving the ultimate compliment to his just vanquished opponent, said he believes this could be the only game Manchester City will go on to lose.

“Maybe it is historical day because maybe it is the only game City will lose this season,” Klopp said of a match that had Twitter buzzing all Sunday long.

“They are just so strong and really good but I really think we deserved the win against a really good team. They deserved the tight result but we could have won 4-1 as well.”

“It was a nice commercial for Premier League football and the whole world was watching. If somebody didn’t watch football until now then they would say, ‘well, that’s why you watch it all the time’. I’m really happy about it.”

Klopp added that the game was a very important statement, as it showed the team will continue to thrive post Philippe Coutinho. The Reds boss also dropped an f-bomb on live television.

Hey, he was caught up in the moment of a huge win in thrilling fashion.

“You can watch it as a manager or as a football fan and I prefer to do that — wow!” the former BVB Manager added.

“What a game! Two teams, full throttle. This was a historical game you will talk about in 20 years because it looks like City will not lose another one this year.

“People watched this game all over the world and this is why — take your heart, throw it on the pitch and play like this, both teams.”

“We played, I don’t know which level, caused them problems like hell. I was not scared at the end, not that I didn’t think we could concede a fourth, I have known my boys long enough now, it was so intense,” Klopp added.
