Before proceeding with this week’s Arsenal Team News article, we had to see how Gabriel Jesus did with Brazil on international duty. Jesus had missed time on the club level lately, but the national team thought him fit enough to be called up (despite the North London club wanting him to rest).

The striker went 90 minutes last night against Argentina, and apparently emerged unscathed.

So Jesus will be fit to feature for the Gunners in a London derby against Brentford on Saturday. However, given the current situation, as explained above, I think manager Mikel Arteta might play him off the bench instead.

Team captain Martin Odegaard has missed the past three games, due to a concussion, but he’s expected to be passed as match fit here. English defender Ben White should be back too. The other main update here involves No. 1 David Raya. As he is still technically a Bees loanee, he is ineligible to face his parent club here.

And of course Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe remain out as long-term injury absentees. And that covers it!
