Chelsea Football Club agree to the fee with Basel for Mohamed Salah and pave the way for Juan Mata to leave for Manchester United move. Chelsea accepted a 37 million bid for Mata. The Mohamed Salah move is all but completed as Blues agree to sign the Egyptian midfielder from the Swiss champions for a fee in the region of £11 million.
The transaction is still subject to the Egyptian international agreeing personal terms and completing a medical examination. But Mohamed Salah is expected to move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Liverpool had held talks with Basel with hope of making Mohamed Salah their first signing of the January transfer window. Salah, who would become their third big signing of the January transfer window for the London side, after the arrivals of Nemanja Matic and Bertrand Traore.
And Mohamed Salah gives Manager Jose Mourinho the attacking midfield he desires.
