While the summer transfer window is closed in England, it remains open in Europe until the end of the month, and thus we could still see a Chelsea FC player or two move abroad until September gets here. So let’s take a spin through the latest news items, notes, transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
We begin with Willian discussing the positive impact of the two new players who arrived this summer, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho.
The Brazilian said to Chelsea FC.com: “Everyone has been training well, but I would say Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic have been very good. They both bring a lot of quality to the team.”
For part two of Chelsea FC news and transfer talk go here.
Speaking of Willian, the Barcelona and Manchester United target has now been offered up to Real Madrid.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Stamford Bridge want €80 million in exchange for his rights, and another €10 million on top of it in agent fees. Willian has spoken very candidly about his club future, and present this summer.
He’s been straight-forward about a multitude of topics during his media opportunities including: how sour his relationship was with Antonio Conte, his desire to reunite with Jose Mourinho and the huge that offer Barca made.
However, it’s highly unlikely that a transfer deal ever gets done because the player has also pledged his future to the west London club for the time being.
Additionally, Sky Sports cites Onda Cero in their paper talk column, who claim the European champions “have responded to say he is not the profile of player they are looking for at the moment.” So despite the offer being made, it appears there isn’t much there there in regards to this one.
