Arsenal FC have made their second buy of the summer transfer window today. First it was Swiss Midfielder Granit Xhaka, now it’s Japan forward Takuma Asano from J-League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima. The general deal is already in place, now the two sides just need to hammer out the details (Asano needs to undergo his Arsenal medical, the international paperwork needs to be completed etc,)
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger described Asano as ”a talented young striker” and “very much one for the future” adding in the standard ”we look forward to him developing over the next couple of years.”
For those of us who aren’t up on our J-League, and our Sanfrecce Hirsohima, and by that I mean pretty much all of us, you should check out his Wikipedia page, which states that Asano “helped his side lift the J1 League for a second time in 2015, this time adding nine goals in 34 appearances.
“He was also named as the J-League’s Rookie of the Year.”
