It’s international break, and there’s only so much you can cover regarding injury news, so it’s time to talk Manchester United transfer rumors, as we head into the final seven days left before the huge clash at Liverpool next Saturday.
Let’s take a spin through the internet and see what narratives are buzzing.
Anthony Martial as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal next summer?
Seems somewhat far-fetched, but The Daily Mirror is still going with it, as they claim Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to make a move for United’s 2015 deadline day signing. Regarding Sanchez, he’s out of contract and very unlikely to re-sign, and he found himself heavily linked with a move to Manchester City this past summer.
Later however, Wenger said that this deal wasn’t actually close to ever happening.
The Gunners explored signing Thomas Lemar and Raheem Sterling as potential replacements as well, but obviously those deals didn’t come close to fruition either.
It is known that Wenger has had past interest in Anthony Martial, and the 21-year-old would fit his system well. However, Wenger won’t be able to acquire his young fellow countryman unless Martial grows tired of the rotation that he’s currently in with Marcus Rashford, and prefers instead to go to a club where he would be in the starting XI every time.
