According to an announcement from the France Football Federation, a pair of Manchester United stars, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba, have withdrawn from the France national team camp due to injury. The pair have now been ruled out of action for the world champions, in their matches against Netherlands and Uruguay this international break.
News of the former was not surprising, as he missed United’s 3-1 Manchester Derby defeat at the hands of City. Pogba missed training on Friday, and showed up to the derby wearing a suit. United didn’t disclose any information on his injury, but France team doctors have.
Pogba was diagnosed with a muscular lesion in his left thigh.
As for Martial, no one thought he was has hurt yesterday as he played 90 minutes and scored a goal off of a penalty kick; his seventh scoring strike since October. His injury has been deemed an adductor issue. An adductor is a muscle whose contraction moves a limb or other part of the body toward the midline of the body or toward another part.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko and Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette replaced the pair on the Les Bleus roster.
