Is It Time for Michael Buffer to Return to the Premier League?

The Premier League is bigger than ever before. Not only have Manchester City all but abdicated the throne for the first time in many, many years, but more people around the world are tuning in to watch games. Naturally, the largest audience is in the UK, followed by Europe, but then, there are record figures being put up over in the United States, per sportspro.com.

So, why not revel in taking major clashes in the top division of English football to the next level and see if clubs can draw in some of the biggest names in the sports business? With a touch of history with the Premier League, the legend Michael Buffer might just be keen to come back and enjoy a better time of it this season.

An Icon of Sports

Michael Buffer has been an iconic staple of one of the UK’s favourite sports for over four decades. While he might not do as many matches as he used to, Buffer remains ready to announce the biggest boxing matches in the world. His famous catchphrase, “Let’s get ready to rumble” was first integrated in 1984, and his recognition has been bolstered by the similar success of his brother in the same arena of commenting, as per combatpress.com.

Of course, boxing hasn’t been Buffer’s only arena – as you’d assume from someone who’s so well-known across sports. He spent a good chunk of time in wrestling with World Championship Wrestling. Around this extended stint, the announcer would ready arenas for UFC fights, the MLB’s World Series, the Stanley Cup Finals, and NFL games. In 2024, the Philadelphian even announced the Flyers’ first-round draft pick.

With an iconic voice and style that never fails to amp up the crowds, it’s not a surprise that everyone knows who Buffer is, and he’s even been able to expand his legacy beyond sports. His famous catchphrase remains front and centre among the hundreds of slots at two of the best instant withdrawal casinos, per bonus.net.nz, around. Particularly at the one with 100 no-deposit spins, the Let’s Get Ready to Rumble slot continues to get spun by fans.

A Return to the Premier League

Along with featuring as the star of his own slot game at so many of the highest-rated quick withdraw casinos online, and the ability to announce for some of the biggest sporting occasions in the world, Buffer has dipped his toe into the Premier League arena. Back in November 2018, Buffer was in London to announce the Tony Bellew vs David Haye II bout and decided to hang around for the next day.

The American announcer found himself at Stamford Bridge the next day, ready to amp up the crowd for a huge match against Liverpool. He adapted it to his boxing lines, announcing the red and blue corners and the players’ names, but while doing so, he got dosed. The sprinklers ran over the legendary master of ceremonies, soaking him while calling out the Chelsea players, but he carried on like a pro.

Buffer remains a sporting legend and is clearly very adaptable to any sport. With the Premier League riding high, it’d be great to hear “Let’s get ready to football” before kick-off again before the great announcer calls it a day.
