Manziel Disease will be cured sooner than later

Everywhere sports fans turn, Johnny Manziel and the newly coined Manziel Disease is infecting helpless people at an alarming rate. News of Manziel’s partying and abrasive quotes continue to flood our media forums without our consent.

When a young potential star from a top football program wants to avoid being like the latest Heisman trophy winner, it may be time to sit down and reevaluate some of the decisions you are making. Or you will fall victim to Manziel disease too.

The cure for what ails you is under your nose. Ignore ‘Johnny Football.’ If not, hope his antics have taken away from his talents on the gridiron, rendering him an afterthought and a telltale of what not to do when given the college football world in the palm of your hand.

Manziel was portrayed as a fresh face in the college football world in 2012. The then freshman would go on a tear leading to a Heisman. What few expected to see succeed is a kid absorbing the fame and limelight like a dried out sponge.

Not only has the antics of Johnny Manziel been well documented, stories of potential NCAA violations and a descriptive family history courtesy of Deadspin have surfaced in the past 10 days. The family account is a great read and has all the makings of a family reality show on CMT or ESPN desperate for ratings outside of live events.

The sun is setting on the college football offseason with games starting in weeks. While Manziel was busy filling rooms with his ego, and developing Manziel Disease,  teams in the SEC were planning on how to unseat ‘Johnny Football’ from his throne atop college football.

While it is unclear how well or poorly Manziel will play this coming season, it is clear that teams across the nation will be aiming to cure the new and threatening ailment known as Manziel Disease.
