When Arsenal travels to Ipswich Town on Tuesday night, for a third round EFL Cup clash, manager Mikel Arteta is likely to shuffle his side. And that would mean starting assignments for some guys who don’t often receive them, like Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino.

It also means potential first team designations for a few players who very rarely receive them. This group of footballers includes the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze.

As this competition is most likely considered fourth in priority (as it should be) for the bigger clubs (like Arsenal), this is the kind of match where these types of squad players will usually see most of their playing time.

Ipswich Town will indeed be fired up, especially so given how this match is at their place, but they shouldn’t provide too formidable a challenge.

After all, the Tractor Boys are a newly promoted side.
