Jameis Winston verifies that the curse of #5 is real

As Halloween approaches, now is the season of curses. And all things scary, creepy, disturbing and weird.  Time to re-investigate my curse of the #5 jersey; which Jameis Winston is embodying more and more by the hour.

Winston, and Venric Mark too, are just the latest example of how every star football player who wears #5 will inevitably get into some major off-the-field drama. Braxton Miller certainly looks like he’s cursed, given what happened to him, but this is about off the field issues, not injuries.

All the off-the-field issues for Winston have utterly destroyed his NFL Draft stock. This has been verified by Fox Sports Jay Glazer. Hey, when your moral authority, character voucher and voice of reason is a guy named Jimbo, well…

The details of the curse of #5 articulated here. a piece I wrote in August 2013.

I know this because #5 was my number when I played high school football, and I still use it in all my internet handle/email things paulbo05 etc.

Examples include: Everett Golson, Manti Te’o, Josh Freeman, Reggie Bush, Rashard Mendenhall, Kerry Collins, Paul Hornung, Mikel Leshoure, Donovan McNabb Jameis Winston, and Chris Kluwe.
