At the Northwestern basketball game tonight a moment of silence was held for Purdue student Andrew Boldt, who was shot and killed on the West Lafayette campus today. The opponent of Northwestern basketball tonight are the Purdue Boilermakers. As you can see from the first tweet and twitpic below, the Northwestern basketball cheering student section, The Wildside, also made a gesture of solidarity with the Big Ten community.

Police have confirmed that there was one male shooter and one male fatal victim in the shooting that locked down Purdue University’s campus on Tuesday afternoon. The suspect has been ID’d by authorities as Cody Cousins, and victim has been identified by acquaintances as Andrew Boldt, 21, an undergraduate teacher’s assistant. They were both TAs for the same professor, D.G. Meyer.

It was very classy of the Northwestern basketball community to make these gestures. It’s not just #BoilerStrong today, it’s also #B1GStrong
