Ah, the Cleveland Browns. No team’s fanbase is more engaged in the NFL Draft, year round, year in, year out, then this team. The Brownies fan club love themselves a good NFL mock draft; even in August. Of course, don’t mock another OT to the Browns because they’ll let you have in the comments section and/or on Twitter.
It’s because the Cleveland Browns are perpetually rebuilding and retooling. It seems like it’s always a makeover year on the shores of Lake Erie.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport on potential changes with the Cleveland Browns:
“My understanding is change is on the way in Cleveland. The real question is which change owner Jimmy Haslam decides to make at the end of the season. But it is pretty clear you’re starting to see some of the discord and discontent going on inside that building that you often see with teams who have lost as many games as they have. It is clear there are several people in the organization on different pages.
For instance, the scouts and personnel people don’t think the coaches make enough changes in-game; the coaches do not think they have enough talent to really go out there and compete. So it is that clear all is not well, and at this point from my understanding of the situation it is unfathomable to think that Ray Farmer and Mike Pettine will both back for the 2016 season. The question is what changes will Jimmy Haslam the owner decide to make.”
A new quarterback, head coach and general manager? Why not? Time to clean house. Some funny and interesting takes on the Cleveland Browns from FOX NFL Sunday.
Terry Bradshaw says he’s done with Johnny Manziel:
“I wouldn’t even give him this chance. I’ve had a belly full of him. That guy hasn’t grown up and don’t give me the excuse that’s he’s young. As far as I’m concerned, he just needs to go home. I’m done with him.”
Jimmy Johnson says that he believes the Cleveland Browns are showcasing him:
“I think they are showcasing Manziel, but the problem is after today’s game you have to play Seattle, Kansas City and Pittsburgh. It won’t be much of a showcase. I think after those games, you’re going to be able to get Manziel, the GM and the coach for a cup of coffee.”
LOLOLOLOLOL You just got burned by JJ! But seriously, once again, the NFL Draft is the highlight of the season for Cleveland Browns fans. Is it any wonder now why the NFL choose this franchise as the setting for their infomercial masquerading as a movie starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner.
