Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction at Everton FC

liverpool

Liverpool are currently sitting a top the Premier League table, and by a very comfortable margin. It appears that the only team left standing between the Reds and long-awaited glory is Leicester City. Of course, anything can happen and the season is still a marathon, so they may decide to beef up the roster in the January transfer window.

When you’re on the cusp of ending a drought that goes all the way back to 1990, you can’t take any chances or get complacent. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool will spend next month, if the opportunity presents itself.

Liverpool at Everton Team News: Alisson, Fabinho, Matip, Delph, Walcott

merseyside derby liverpool everton

Tomorrow night brings a Merseyside derby, on paper at least, which projects to be as lopsided as the series has ever seen. Visiting Liverpool enter match day 15 having dropped just two points of a possible 42 this season. They’re running away with the league lead.

The hosts, Everton, are at the other end of the spectrum, sitting just two points above the final relegation position. It appears that Toffees manager Marco Silva could be on the brink of getting sacked. The Reds are most certainly a very complete team, but their best player is central defender Virgil van Dijk.

Jose Mourinho Expects Warm Reception at Old Trafford Tomorrow

jose mourinho

While it ended in disaster, with typical “third season syndrome,” Jose Mourinho still had a decent run as Manchester United manager. He brought the club their first Europa League title in history, a League Cup title and Community Shield win.

Mourinho also led United to the highest league finish the club has seen since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down, when he guided the Red Devils to a second place finish in 2017-18. Tomorrow night, he’ll return to Old Trafford for the first time as the man leading the opposition. He expects a warm reception on Wednesday when he’s introduced to the Theatre of Dreams crowd as Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Calls Reports He’ll be Sacked “blatant lies”

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he has no insecurity about his job right now. He even went so far as to call the “reports” claiming he’ll be sacked if United lose at home to Tottenham Hotspur just “blatant lies.” Yes, three Premier League managers have been canned in the last two weeks, but Solskjaer isn’t worried about joining them in the ranks of the unemployed.

“I am good. Absolutely no problem. Sometimes you laugh when you read stories about what I’ve said and stuff. At least I know the sources everyone is talking about aren’t sources, they are just made up, blatant lies,” Solskjaer said.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction vs Aston Villa

Last time out, Chelsea lost to West Ham United in a home match they were heavily favored to win. The result on Saturday probably helped to save Manuel Pellegrini’s job, but it was an affair that really should have gone the way of the hosts.

They had twice as much possession as West Ham and 19 shots to the Hammers’ five but couldn’t convert and finish. It was the first time Chelsea ended up scoreless in a home league match under Frank Lampard. Now the Blues look to rebound from a disappointing London derby when they host lower table side Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa Team News: Abraham, Rudiger, Barkley, Steer, Davis

john terry

Chelsea FC hosts Aston Villa in a mid-week Premier League fixture that is overflowing with storylines. Tomorrow night will see the return to Stamford Bridge of John Terry, Chelsea’s most decorated player. The former captain left for Villa in 2017, but not until after having won 11 major honors with current manager Frank Lampard.

Terry then claimed three more honors after the club’s all-time leading scorer left in 2014. You also have Blues striker Tammy Abraham who was sidelined with a hip injury in the loss to West Ham United

Solskjaer Makes Tone Deaf Remarks About Man United Place in Table

Either Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t “get it,” or he knows he’s so secure in his gig that he doesn’t need to “get it.” For at least the second time this season, the Norwegian made remarks about United results that convey just how out of sync he is with the expectations and standards of the fan base.

That’s quite puzzling, given how he’s a former player himself.

After the goalless draw at AZ Alkmaar in early October, a Europa League clash in which his side didn’t even register a shot on goal, OGS called it “a good point away from home against a difficult opponent.” He also added that he was “very pleased” with the result.

Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI Prediction vs Manchester United

jose mourinho

Think Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho will be fired up for this one? The polarizing Portugese returns to Old Trafford, for the first time as an opponent, Wednesday night when Spurs visit Manchester United. Just a couple weeks ago, this looked like little more than a blah match-up between two overpaid, under-achieving big six sides holding out faint hopes of getting back into Europe, some how, some way.

Now it’s a revenge match for one of football’s most intriguing and entertaining figures, and that narrative cannot be over-appreciated this season, with the Premier League title chase almost decided already.

Manchester United Starting XI Prediction vs Tottenham Hotspur

ed-woodward

You got to wonder just how much rope Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer really has left at Old Trafford. With yesterday’s utterly dismal draw against newly promoted Aston Villa yesterday, the team now sits ninth in the table, and off to their worst beginning since 1988-89, when they finished 11th.

While the Norwegian’s seat may or may not be hot, it’s worth bringing up as Arsenal have now sacked Unai Emery for much lesser crimes. The Gunners are one spot ahead of United in the table, and Emery had a 20% better win rate in the Premier League than OGS does now.

Tottenham at United Team News: Mourinho, Lamela, Davies, McTominay, Matic

Here we go, a bonafide “circle the date” fixture as Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur and their new manager Jose Mourinho. The Special One returns to Old Trafford, this time leading the opponent of the club that sacked him a little less than a year ago.

No more hype needed, so let’s take a look at the team news for this one, starting with the hosts. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who now has a putrid 27% win rate as permanent manager at United, winning just six out of 21 league fixtures since having the interim label removed on March 28, is hoping to have Scott McTominay back for this one.

Manchester City starting XI prediction at Burnley FC

Tuesday night sees a Premier League fixture that is certainly a lopsided series, to say the least. Manchester City heads to the Turf Moor to take on a Burnley FC side that they have dominated lately. Across all competitions, City have won seven of the last eight, and suffered defeat just once in the last 22 against the Clarets.

This is exactly what the reigning back to back Premier League champions need right now, after having taken just four points from the last three matches. That doesn’t sound awful at first, but remember, this is City, a club with financial resources (and thus high expectations) unlike any in the entire world.

Manchester City at Burnley FC Team News: Zinchenko, Aguero, Taylor, Vydra

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been speaking lately as if he knows the chances of a Premier League title defense are slipping away.  And that was even before the draw at Newcastle United on Saturday, which saw his side further behind runaway league leaders Liverpool in the standings.

Man City is running out of chances, and their mid-week fixture at Burnley FC is one where they just cannot drop points. The host Clarets could see Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Matej Vydra back in the lineup, but only if they pass late fitness before kickoff.
