Tim Howard: All-Time USA Legend Just Can’t Solve the Chicago Fire

Tim Howard is arguably the greatest goalkeeper in American soccer history. He’s won three CONCACAF Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year awards and one Fútbol de Primera Player of the Year honor. During the 2014 World Cup, he was a bonafide national hero.

However, he just can’t solve the Chicago Fire. In his final visit to the windy city today, he conceded four times and registered a loss as the Fire beat his Colorado Rapids 4-1. To be fair, he didn’t get much support as the team around him is not good; at all. Colorado are among the worst sides in all of Major League Soccer.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction vs Burnley FC

The Premier League weekend concludes with Burnley visiting Chelsea on Monday night, a match that was extremely one-sided in the reverse fixture. The Blues bulldozed Burnley 4-0 at the Turf Moor earlier this season, but the current Clarets are now playing much better.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction at Cardiff City

Liverpool FC travel to Cardiff City on Sunday for a Premier League fixture that has massive implications at both ends of the table. Liverpool still a top the standings, but by only two points over Manchester City, who have a game in hand on them.

Cardiff currently sit in the final relegation slot, only two points behind Brighton & Hove Albion, but the Seagulls do have a game in hand on them. So there is a lot to play for on Sunday, but for just totally different reasons. Liverpool FC are heading down the home stretch of the season with a player roster that’s at near full fitness. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will have all his selection options available for the run in, as the Merseyside club looks to end their long league title drought. Up next is a league fixture at Cardiff City.

Dejan Lovren missed out on the midweek win at Porto due to an illness, but Klopp said today that the central defender is feeling well again. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Admits Some of his Players need ‘a reality check’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got off to a rip roaring beginning at Manchester United, winning 14 of his first 17 matches. Since that hot start the form has really dropped off though. United have since lost five of seven, and those two wins were less than impressive.

It’s going to be another season without a trophy at Old Trafford, and following the midweek loss at Barcelona Solskjaer made it absolutely clear just how much this club needs to improve and how long it could take to get to the desired level.

After a very thorough thrashing at the hands of FC Barcelona in midweek Champions League play, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lamented just how far his club has to go in order to rejoin Europe’s elite.

The Norwegian knows it will take a long time to get there too. Thus, a major overhaul will be in the works this summer. “We have said all along that this isn’t going to change tonight. The next few years will be massive for us to get to the level of Barcelona,” said Solskjaer.

Manchester United will travel to Everton FC on Sunday for a Premier League fixture that sees both sides in dire need of points. Both of these northwest England clubs are currently on the outside looking in when it comes to European football qualification for next season.

As has been significantly discussed already, Manchester United are set to have a very busy summer transfer window. Following the loss at FC Barcelona on Tuesday, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lamented just how much rebuilding United need to do in order to get back among Europe/the world’s elite.

The good news is that United, as a club, are essentially printing money right now, so a transfer war chest to work with should not be an issue; at all. There is a whole lot of bad news though. First, there is a ton of work to do, as even Solskjaer himself said this rebuild could take some time.

Manchester City Starting XI Prediction vs Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League)

Last night saw Manchester City win the UCL quarterfinal match, but lose the tie in a game that we’ll never forget. City’s 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur ended in a 4-4 draw on aggregate, which Spurs go through to the semifinals.

It was a match so riveting that even neutrals felt their hearts racing, and the rematch kicks off the Premier League weekend. “It was a nice game for everybody — 3-2 after 20 minutes, and in the second half we did everything,” City boss Pep Gaurdiola said in postgame.
