Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Backs Marcus Rashford to Regain Scoring Ways

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer virtually met the media today, ahead of tomorrow night’s Premier League fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion. Red Devils leading scorer Marcus Rashford was one of the topics he covered, as well as the future of Angel Gomes, the race for the top four and yesterday’s FA Cup draw.

Rashford has yet to score in his three appearances since play resumed, but he did register two assists against Sheffield United. With play having been suspended mid-March, there was a long layoff for everybody, but Rashford had been out of action even longer, having suffered a double stress fracture against Wolves in the FA Cup back in January.

Angel Gomes Set to Leave Man United on a Free Transfer

Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes is set to leave the club, unless an 11th hour deal for a contract extension is reached. That’s extremely unlikely, as his current deal expires on June 30.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met the media today ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion. “Got no news, nothing, so doesn’t look like it,” Solskjaer responded when asked on the topic of the diminutive 19-year-old.

FA Cup Semis: Man United-Chelsea, Man City vs Arsenal

As the FA Cup quarterfinal round concluded today, the semifinal round was announced. The two fixtures will be played July 18-19, with the final being contested on Aug. 1, all at Wembley Stadium. We’ll see Manchester City take on Arsenal one on side, Manchester United versus Chelsea on the other.

Once again, a City side led by Pep Guardiola received the easiest draw possible. Although they will be facing the side with the most FA Cup titles in history, as Arsenal have lifted it 13 times.

Manchester United at Brighton Starting XI Predictions

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted this past week that seeing Liverpool clinch the title hurt a little bit. Perhaps it will provide the motivation necessary for the club to push ahead this summer, make some additions and join the title race next year.

For now, the goal is to try and finish third in the table, but even that seems to be slipping away. However, in 2020-21, things could get really interesting between Liverpool, Manchester City, a beefed up, reinforced Chelsea, plus a United side with Bruno Fernandes on board for an entire season.

It took extra time, but Manchester United powered their way through to the FA Cup semifinals yesterday with a 2-1 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road. Captain Harry Maguire provided the game-winning goal and MUFC stayed undefeated since the January acquisition of Bruno Fernandes.

Can Pogba and Fernandes Play Together? Carrick Rejects this Narrative

It’s the million dollar question that surrounds Manchester United right now- can Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes play alongside one another? The two silky smooth midfielders have such similar skill sets, and provide much of the same qualities to the team that a debate is inevitable.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Admits Liverpool Title Clinch Hurt

Manchester United vs Liverpool FC is a very heated rivalry. It is to England what El Clasico is to Spain or Der Klassiker to Germany. United have more top flight league titles than any English club, with 20. Last night, by virtue of Chelsea beating Manchester City, Liverpool won their 19th.

It was their first in 30 years, and it’s so long ago that it wasn’t even called the Premier League back then. With such a long drought now over it’s a feel good story to neutrals, non-sports fans and even some supporters of some rival clubs. However, it still hurts to others, especially to those who are United through and through.

Man United Starting XI, Team News at Norwich City (FA Cup)

In hailing his side’s performance yesterday, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also made it clear that the result could have been even more in their favor. The Norwegian believes his side is on its way to moving up the table and winning cups, while pointing out how the ceiling has still not yet been reached.

A very convincing win over Sheffield United yesterday saw Anthony Martial score all three of the match’s goals, en route to his first career hat trick. Now comes the resumption of the FA Cup this weekend, and a trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City in the quarterfinals.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Aims for Third Place Finish in League

Last night, Manchester United certainly looked like a side that is realizing its potential. After a 3-0 shellacking of Sheffield United, a club they’re currently battling for the final Champions League qualification slot, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said there is more of this to come.

Anthony Martial achieved the first United hat trick of the post Sir Alex Ferguson era at Old Trafford yesterday, but the Red Devils still left some goals out on the pitch unscored. Solskjaer knows the result could have been even more lopsided, and he believes his side is on its way to moving up the table and winning silverware.

Anthony Martial Achieves First MUFC Hat Trick of Post Ferguson Era

Tonight, in the 3-0 win over Sheffield United, Anthony Martial became the first Manchester United player to score a hat trick in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. The last Red Devil to hit the trifecta in a single game was Robin van Persie.

The Frenchman now has 14 goals from open play this season, the same amount as Sergio Aguero and Sadio Mane. Martial has more in this regard than Mo Salah, Tammy Abraham, Harry Kane or Raheem Sterling. You can see all three in the video below:

Scott McTominay Signs Contract Extension with MUFC

Manchester United announced on Tuesday the inking of Scott McTominay to a new long term deal. The Scottish midfielder and academy product has been at the club since 2012, and found his place in the first team under manager Jose Mourinho.

He is certainly no longer “young Scot” and his The new deal keeps him at the club until 2025, with an option for an additional year.

Dean Henderson is United’s GK of the Future, Says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is ineligible to face his parent club, Manchester United tomorrow night. Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met the media today, and during the session he affirmed the likelihood of the 23-year-old English international extending his loan deal for the rest of the season.

“I would think so,” the Norwegian replied when the question was put to him. OGS then hailed Henderson as both Old Trafford and even England’s goalkeeper of the future.
