Odion Ighalo Urges Supporters to Put Health Above Football

Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo, on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League, saw his activation into his current team delayed due to coronavirus precautions.

He’s fine, and according to one report, he receives two tests daily, as does the rest of the team. The 30-year-old has done more than enough to earn a permanent place with the club, and according to reports, the Nigerian would be more than happy to take a £6 million pay cut in order to make his loan move permanent.

Tom Brady Move to Bucs a Hot Topic Among Manchester United Fans

Yesterday was yet another day in these surreal and insane times in which we live, and any time we see a top trending term on Twitter that’s not related to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s a blessing. That is perhaps the most re-assuring thing about seeing Tom Brady as the top trend on the micro-blogging platform on Tuesday, because hey, it wasn’t coronavirus.

We have no sports, anywhere, for the foreseeable future, and thus, NFL free agency is bigger and more interesting than ever. Tom Brady, 42, officially left the New England Patriots and multiple reports indicate he’ll sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for about $30 million.

Manchester United to Extend Nemanja Matic One More Season

The big news today, from a Manchester United standpoint, is cancelling of training. New government guidelines, with the aim of slowing the coronavirus spread, forbids gatherings of the size that a training session elicits. In other United news, the club will trigger the one year option on the contract of midfielder Nemanja Matic.

The 31-year-old was set to see his current contract expire at the end of this season, hence the action taken to keep the former Chelsea man in place. This season has been topsy-turvy for the Serbian, considering the transfer rumors that swirled about him in the January window as contract extension talks with the club had stalled out.

Bruno Fernandes Claims Premier League Player of the Month Award

Bruno Fernandes has certainly become that “x factor” that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer envisioned he could be. The very late in the January transfer window addition, who’s been a difference maker, according to Gary Neville, has been named Premier League Player of the Month for February.

It’s well deserved too, as he’s produced four assists and three goals in nine appearances across all competitions for United so far. Indeed the $88 million acquisition from Sporting Lisbon has been worth every penny for Old Trafford so far.
