Buffalo Bills: Vince Young’s last chance in the NFL?

In early July 2011, Vince Young was waived by the Tennessee Titans and promptly picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles, who agreed to a one-year contract with Young. Young played in only 6 games that season for Philadelphia, getting off to a very rough 1-2 start.

At present, Young is without a team, which seems a little preposterous at this point in his career.

He has, however, worked out for the Buffalo Bills at their invitation. Bills receiver David Nelson said that Young looked to be in great shape during his workout with the team.

It remains to be seen if the Bills—or anyone else—is going to take a shot with Young, but experienced quarterbacks in the NFL aren’t just falling from the sky. I can think of a dozen different teams that could use Young’s services, which means he’s likely to be signed before training camp starts, with a high probability of taking over as a starter before the season is over.

Young finished his career in Tennessee with a 30-17 record. Young also wrapped up his time as a Titan with a 75.4 QB rating, 42 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing; and 42 interceptions.
