Your Denard Robinson Wrist Injury Update

Denard Robinson

For the Michigan Wolverines offense, tailback Fitzgerald Toussaint was the bellcow, finishing the 31-14 win over the Illini with 192 yards rushing on 27 carries; two touchdowns.

Single threat quarterback Denard Robinson had two rushing touchdowns to go with 42 yards on the ground, on 11 attempts. He threw 6-11 for 91 yards and two picks, although one was an end of half desperation heave, so I don’t really count that as an interception- even though it goes in the books as one.

Robinson left the game early with a injury of some sort and it did not return. Continue after the jump to learn his status.

“He’ll be okay, he just bruised his wrist  little bit. Could have come back in late, but Devin was already doing some pretty good things, Michigan Coach Brady Hoke told the media after the game.

So there you go #16 could have returned, but didn’t. And he’ll likely be fine for next week versus Nebraska.

Devin Gardner finished the game out at QB for the Wolverines; going 2-5 for 47 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.

“he knew what he had to do, he practiced well, and it showed on the field,” Fitzgerald said of Gardner’s performance.

Hoke assessed his play:

“He made a really nice play when he stepped up in the pocket, when he threw the touchdown pass to Martavious,” I think you’d have to really see (on film later) if he got us in and out of all the right things play wise, which I think he did, He did a nice job.”
