The injury bug has certainly been biting Notre Dame this season. And today it bit starting quarterback Dayne Crist again. Last week, in a loss to Navy, ND was without their top three weapons on offense: Theo Riddick, Kyle Rudolph and Michael Floyd.
This week they lost Crist, their starting QB, early in their home game versus Tulsa. He’s out for the season with a ruptured patellar tendon.
It’s really unfortunate, and even a bit eerie, when you consider that the injury occurs almost one exact year to the day after Crist injured his ACL. Last Halloween versus Washington State. Crist was 0/2 passing before giving way to sophomore Tommy Rees.
