Six Potential Manchester United Summer Transfer Window Targets

With the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era begun with full gusto, the Norwegian has promised a busy transfer window this summer at Manchester United. According to multiple reports, a major overhaul is in the works this off-season. In a previous post, we looked at who could be on the way out.

Here, we look at who Solskjaer, Ed Woodward and the board will be targeting as the next potential additions.

It’s no secret who the top target is- Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho. The English international is a top priority, but he’ll be wanted by many of the world’s richest and most powerful clubs.

Acquiring Sancho could cost in the region of £100 million, which would break the transfer fee records for both MUFC and any England born player. As you might have heard, United want a new and better central defender- it was on all the home pages.

Just like in many previous windows, United will be after a new centre back, and Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti could be the next target of the board at Old Trafford. Go here for more. Another potential target at the position could be Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane; more on that here.

Elsewhere, Dutch winger Memphis Depay flamed out at United, but perhaps he just wasn’t ready for life at United at that point in his life. He’s certainly found himself again at Lyon in Ligue 1, and it appears he’s turned his career around.

It isn’t outside the realm of possibility he comes back to the Theatre of Dreams, and if United want a new winger, and miss out on Sancho, then the former PSV Eindhoven man could be the answer.

Additionally, Metro writes that: “Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a target at wing-back, while West Ham star Declan Rice is considered a solution in central midfield.”
