With 10 wins and one draw in 11 games across all competitions, Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has certainly made a strong case for his getting the gig full time. Forward Anthony Martial, one of several players that has seen his form flourish under Solskajer, publicly backed the Norwegian on Monday to become the club’s next permanent manager.

“Things are going really well at the moment. We’re really happy to have him here with us,” Martial said at a news conference ahead of tomorrow night’s UEFA Champions League knockout round clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

“I hope we can continue with him as our head coach, but ultimately the final decision isn’t down to us. But we’re pleased he’s with us at the moment.”

The Q&A between Martial and the reporter comes around the 10:30 mark in the video above

The Frenchman’s answer conveyed that it isn’t just him who wants Solskjaer to stay on past the end of the season, but the rest of the team as well. Certainly winning, and doing so with style against PSG Tuesday night in the first of the two legged tie against the French champions would certainly further strengthen Solskjaer’s case.

In addition to Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba is another Frenchman on United who has found himself again under Solskjaer, and this tie presents tremendous opportunities for the duo to prominently showcase their augmented form in their home country.
