Neil Warnock Strongly Condemns Liverpool Over Nathaniel Clyne Transfer

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock learned of Liverpool loaning out Nathaniel Clyne to AFC Bournemouth the same way we all did- via a news medium. Unlike the rest of us though, Warnock believed the English international fullback was coming to play for him this week.

When the Bluebirds boss found out, he was understandably upset, given how he thought a deal had been reached between his side and the Merseyside club. Liverpool have yet to comment on this situation, and it remains to be seen if they will tell their side of the story or not, but Warnock certainly did not hold back from blasting the club.

“It’s a disgrace,” the 70-year-old Englishman said of the transfer situation.

“I was disappointed with Nathaniel Clyne, having known the player and giving him his debut (in 2008, at Crystal Palace). I’m not just disappointed with the boy himself, but with Liverpool as well for not ringing me, not telling me.”

“To see it on television when I’ve done everything right and they have promised that he is my player this week, it’s a disgrace and a lack of class.”

In addition to the Nathaniel Clyne loan deal, Liverpool also sold Dominic Solanke to the south coast club this week. Clyne, 27, made his Cherries debut on Saturday, in the club’s 3-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in the third round of the FA Cup. Given the explosiveness of these remarks, it is expected that a reporter will eventually ask Reds boss Jurgen Klopp about this topic.

It will be very interesting to hear what the Liverpool manager has to say about the scathing commentary made by Warnock.
