You have two major stories today involving Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku. First and foremost is the ankle injury he picked up which forced him out of training with the Belgium national team today. Here’s a link to more on that.
The second narrative revolves around his court appearance in Los Angeles County, California, United States of America today. The 24-year-old did not show up. Shortly after signing with the club in July, Lukaku was given a “misdemeanor citation” after local area police responded to a sixth noise complaint at a Beverly Hills mansion in the mountains that he was renting.
The partying got way out of hand as Beverly Hills Police visited the home five times prior in order to warn Lukaku to keep down the noise. Despite the warnings, he didn’t listen and the cops eventually arrested him for misdemeanor disturbing the peace.
He was not taken into custody during the arrest, but his citation did mandate that he appear at the court house in Los Angeles International Airport. However, he didn’t show up and, as the BBC writes: His lawyer, Robert Humphreys, entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.”
“Commissioner Jane Godfrey adjourned the case to Los Angeles Airport Courthouse on 21 November.”
