Gareth Bale to Manchester United transfer talk refuses to cease and desist, even after the narrative has been very recently shot down by both his agent, and Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho. This is a zombie transfer rumor, it cannot be killed, and with Real Madrid set to take on United Tuesday in the UEFA Super Cup, the gossip is only going to persist.
The talk of Real Madrid pursuing Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, and how that acquisition would then make Bale expendable, has ramped up speculation that Bale could leave the Santiago Bernabeu. Now we’re even seeing tabloid stories that claim Chelsea as a potential landing spot for the Welshman.
A Gareth Bale countryman, and legend in Wales football history, Ian Rush says the star winger should remain in Madrid.
“If he’s happy then Gareth should stay in Spain, 100 per cent,” Rush is quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
“He has improved as a player. He’s got great players like Cristiano Ronaldo to keep learning from. There are not many better clubs in the world than Real Madrid.”
“I know that if he decided to come to England he would have the choice of all the top clubs here. Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool would all want him. There’s always a time and a place to come back but I don’t think it should be now. He is still relatively young,” continued Rush, the leading scorer in both Wales National Team and Liverpool Football Club history.
Gareth Bale transfer talk has persisted for so long that it’s hard to believe he’s going anywhere, at least not between now and when the summer transfer window closes in 25 days.
