Romelu Lukaku, who’s officially headed to Manchester United from Everton on a £75 million transfer, was arrested during the Fourth of July holiday weekend for disturbing the peace. The 24-year-old Belgian striker is on holiday in Los Angeles where he rented a mansion in the mountains.

Some of his partying got way out of hand as Beverly Hills Police visited the home at least 6 times to warn Lukaku to keep down the noise. Despite the warnings, he didn’t listen and the cops eventually arrested him for misdemeanor disturbing the peace.

Lukaku was not formally booked or brought to the police station, but instead given a citation. However, he does have a court date in L.A. now in his future because of this incident. Here’s the full statement from BHPD:

On July 2, 2017, at approximately 8:00 PM, Beverly Hills Police Department officers arrested a 24-year-old male subject by the name of Romelu Lukaku Bolingoli.

Bolingoli received a misdemeanour citation for Beverly Hills Municipal Code Violation 5-1-104 – Excessive Noise. The citation was issued after officers responded to five other noise complaints from the same location, which resulted in verbal warnings.

These noise violations occurred at a residence in Beverly Hills where Bolingoli was temporarily residing. Bolingoli was released at the scene with the citation and was not physically arrested.

Bolingoli is scheduled to appear at the Los Angeles Airport Courthouse on October 2, 2017.

In the words of Weezer, “Beverly Hills, that’s where I want to be! Beverly Hills, rolling like a celebrity!”

United host Crystal Palace in Premier League play on September 30th, before the 10-day international break begins. Belgium are at Bosnia-Herzegovina in a World Cup qualifier on October 7th.
