Yesterday, the world’s media was claiming that it was all but official that Bastian Schweinsteiger was leaving Bayern Munich for Manchester United.  We had not heard word from Old Trafford regarding the rumor yet.

Overnight brought the confirmation making it official. As of right now, Bastian Schweinsteiger is a top ten trending term in the United States, because the deal for the German international is now signed, sealed and delivered.

“Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Bayern Munich to sign midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, subject to a medical and personal terms,” a statement from the club reads.

United have closed one of the biggest deals of the summer transfer window by bringing over a key player from the 2014 World Cup Champion German National Team.

United Manager Louis van Gaal reunites with Schweinsteiger; who played for him while LVG was the Bayern boss. Schweinsteiger, like David de Gea, also has a celebrity girlfriend, in tennis star Ana Ivanovic. (De Gea’s significant other is Spanish pop singer Edurne)
