Luis Suarez to Man United rumor seems far-fetched

Luis Suarez to Manchester United, if it were to actually happen, would be the paradigm of Jerry Seinfeld’s “when you root for a sports team you’re just rooting for clothes” bit. The routine, which is true to life, says basically “this guy is on your team, then he’s great. Same exact human being, on a different team, then boo, he’s awful. You’re rooting for laundry.”

Not that I actually believe Suarez is going to Old Trafford, not even for a second.

Still, it’s worth pointing out as the Daily Express, Metro and other tabloids are all picking up on this transfer gossip and running with it. Per the Daily Star:

Manchester United will reportedly target former Liverpool superstar Luis Suarez in next summer’s transfer window.

United have been consistently linked with securing a mega-money deal at the end of the season with several top names on their wish list.

You’ve heard the rationale before. Barcelona needs money to finance their Camp Nou makeover and additions, their player payroll is extremely high. Hence they need to sell a Galactico or two, and Luis Suarez will be on the block. Sure, you can play for Liverpool and then play for United; and vice versa. It’s not illegal, just seemingly unnatural. And in this case, highly unlikely.
