Crossroads El Clasico: Indiana Hoosiers vs Purdue Boilermakers Series History

bob knight chair

(Editor’s note: re-posting this and updating it from 2017 and 2018, in honor of the Purdue Boilermakers hosting the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday, the first of the two meetings between the two teams this season)

While there is no rivalry in B1G basketball as high stakes and as passionate as El Clasico (the name of the series between Real Madrid and Barcelona), the Purdue Boilermakers (11-6, 4-2) and #25 Indiana Hoosiers (12-5, 3-3) rivalry often comes close. Typically, the two teams are more than just regionally relevant, but nationally as well. In a given year, we often see at least one of the two teams influencing the NCAA Championship odds here as we head towards the final stretch run of the regular season.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction vs Crystal Palace FC

joel matip

For Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, the main issue to resolve in with his starting line-up is at the right back position. With starter Trent Alexander-Arnold now on the shelf for a month, possibly a month and a half, there is no designated right back fit and available on the current roster.

Joe Gomez is still sidelined due to a lower leg fracture that he has sustained last month. However, midfielder James Milner has already seen time at the position this season, and we’re suggesting he’ll be the first team choice on Saturday at home versus Crystal Palace.

Contract Extension Seeking David de Gea Tops Individual Player Power Rankings

david de gea

The agent of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is playing the situation right- strike while the iron is hot. De Gea is arguably the world’s best goalkeeper, and this past weekend you saw the perfect illustration of evidence to back up that argument. De Gea had 11 saves, all in the second half, of United’s 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur.

He single-handedly saved the Red Devils with his man of the match performance, a game that saw the Spaniard set a new 2018-19 season high for single game saves by a Premier League keeper.

Chicago Cubs Badly Misreading the Room Part 2: Addison Russell

addison russell

This upcoming weekend brings Cubs Convention, an annual rite of passage that markets itself as a warm, feel-good celebration of all things baseball in the midst of the cold winter sports dead zone. What the event truly is, when you actually examine it, is a three day long native advertisement for Cubs tickets to the upcoming season.

A native advertisement that costs $125 to get into by the way. Typically, Cubs Con is a chance for more upbeat and positive stories to be produced en masse, but that is certainly not the tone this January. The Cubs fan base is currently pretty upset with the club for two major reasons.
