Florida State DE Brian Burns Has Strong First Round Draft Pick Potential

brian burns

Thus far in 2018, the defense has been the more impressive side of the ball for Florida State and Mr. Burns has certainly been the most “ex-cell-lent!” defender the Seminoles currently have. Brian Burns gets into opposing backfields like C. Montgomery Burns imposes evil plots against the people of Springfield.

With 4.5 more tackles for a loss, Burns will pass up Bjoern Werner and enter the Seminoles all time top ten for TFLs. With 3.5 more quarterback sacks he’ll enter the Noles’ all time top ten list. With four, he’ll surpass Andre Wadsworth, who is tied for seventh all time in FSU history.

Jurgen Klopp Gave Mo Salah a Big Hug After Daniel Sturridge’s Goal

jurgen-klopp

The form of Mohamed Salah has been a hot topic this season, as has the manner in which he celebrated, from the bench, Roberto Firmino’s game winning goal against Paris Saint-Germain in a UEFA Champions League group stage match.

Yesterday, Salah found himself on the bench again when a big scoring strike was achieved. The Egyptian had already been subbed off in the 66′ for Xherdan Shaqiri when Daniel Sturridge leveled for Liverpool in the weekend’s biggest Premier League match at Chelsea. Sturridge’s strike rescued a point for the Reds, who remain undefeated in League play this season.

Gary Neville Says Man United Mess Goes Well Above and Beyond Jose Mourinho

Manchester United club legend Gary Neville is always known for giving a strong take on the issues. Sometimes those strong takes can heat up a little bit and go off the rails, but much of the time he’s spot on. Neville’s got a very solid, cogent interpretation of the dysfunction junction that is currently present at Manchester United.

While almost everybody is blaming manager Jose Mourinho, and many others blame Executive Vice President Ed Woodward, Neville sees the issues stemming from further back. He believes that when the club gave up on Sir Alex Ferguson’s hand-picked successor, David Moyes, so quickly, the club got away from their ideals and standards.

Recapping the Momentum Swings as Northwestern Blows Upset Chance vs Michigan

michigan football

The Northwestern Wildcats, who entered their home meeting with the #14 Michigan Wolverines as two touchdown underdogs, went up 17-0 before eventually falling 20-17. Instead of doing a traditional game recap, we’re just going to post a revised version of our updates that we did for CBS Sports national radio “Eye on College Football.”

Before calling in our updates, we typed out what we were going to read, and here are those updates, in order, pretty much unabridged, but sometimes slightly revised. A game like this is the classic narrative of a moment shift, because you saw a team with a 17-0 advantage slowly yield to a 20-17 deficit and thus defeat.

Anthony Martial Performance Slammed by Jose Mourinho After Disastrous Loss

anthony martial

It’s as dysfunctional as ever at Manchester United right now as the Red Devils were blown out at West Ham United today 3-1. Many are speculating that this could be the beginning of the end for manager Jose Mourinho, but that remains to be seen as the Portugese received a public vote of confidence from Executive Ed Woodward just this week.

What we do know for sure is that the results on the pitch have been awful, and far below the level of what’s acceptable at Old Trafford. Their seven game start is now just as poor as it was under David Moyes in 2013-14.

Jose Mourinho Won’t Say Why Alexis Sanchez Was Dropped from Squad

alexis sanchez

The struggling Alexis Sanchez, Manchester United’s highest paid player, was dropped from the match day squad that lost to West Ham United today 3-1. He wasn’t just benched, he was omitted from the side entirely, and no reason was given why. When manager Jose Mourinho was pressed on this after the disastrous loss at the London Stadium, he was evasive, and refused to give a direct answer.

Instead he blamed those calling for Anthony Martial to be in the first team, and claimed he acquiesced to their wishes.

Jose Mourinho Subject of Social Media Schadenfreude as United Reach New Low

jose mourinho

Manchester United have reached a new low, losing 3-1 at West Ham United, a side that came in to this one 17th in the table. While manager Jose Mourinho still claims his relationship with midfielder Paul Pogba is good, but he subbed the Frenchman off early after he put in a miserable, seemingly disinterested performance on the pitch.

The loss means that Mourinho has now seen his side take only 10 points from the first seven matches, or the same number as what they “achieved” in the first seven matches under David Moyes, in the one partial season that he was in charge.

Eden Hazard Could be the best in the World, Says Maurizio Sarri

eden hazard

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has been playing out of this world so far in 2018-19. His form has been elite, showing the football world exactly why Real Madrid was willing to pay so much money for him, had they been given the opportunity. He came off the bench to provide the game winning goal in the 2-1 Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool this week, giving him six scoring strikes in seven matches this term.

Despite his reaching new heights under manager Maurizio Sarri that he didn’t realize under Antonio Conte or Jose Mourinho, there seems to be a consensus that he hasn’t hit his ceiling yet. Sarri believes we still haven’t seen the best of the Belgian.

According to multiple reports, he’ll miss a month.

Fred Explains Goal Celebration, Says He’s Adjusting Better to Life at United

fred

Fred was Manchester United’s first 2018 summer signing and the only first team caliber player they acquired in what was a very disappointing transfer window. The Brazilian was very impressive during his five year spell at Shakhtar Donetsk, but he’s gotten off to a very slow start at MUFC.

Given his expensive price tag, reported to be £53 million (€59m/$69m), fans expected much more than what he has shown thus far. But perhaps things are on the upswing though as he broke through for his first goal in a Red Devils shirt last week.
