Jose Mourinho Happy to Have Changed Marouane Fellaini Perceptions

Marouane Fellaini is an extremely polarizing player, even among his own fan base. Some of those strong feelings are derived from the fact that he was the only major summer transfer window addition of David Moyes in 2013, and therefore has long remained associated with the Scotsman.

However, perceptions are certainly changing now for the better, and they will only continue to improve the more he score goals and helps the team win games.

Antonio Conte Gives Alvaro Morata Injury Update

alvaro morata

Chelsea fought bravely and gave their all but fell at home 1-0 to Manchester City in what is no doubt the headliner fixture in world football this weekend. City further cemented their Premier League title bonafides, as they took all three points to stay on top of the table with rivals Manchester United.

Chelsea began the week as underdogs for this one, but became slight favorites following their very impressive midweek showing in the UEFA Champions League against Atletico Madrid. However, they ended up losing more than just the game, as their star striker and club record transfer signing Alvaro Morata went down with an injury.

Romelu Lukaku Hot Start Earns Place in Man United History

romelu lukaku

Yesterday, Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho made it known that striker Romelu Lukaku was likely not going to see much rest until Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns from injury.

The big Belgian is on such a hot streak right now, scoring in eight consecutive games that you wouldn’t want to sit him even if you could. The last thing you want to do when someone has the golden form is go away from it. When someone is feeling it to the degree that Lukaku is, you got to keep feeding him.

Harry Kane: September Probably the “Best Month” He’s Ever Had

Somebody pinch Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane because it’s been a dream month for him. Or, as punk rock legends Green Day told us in 2005, “wake me up, when September ends.”

Actually, that song is a bit of a downer, perhaps the happy, upbeat, fast pace of Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September” is the tune about the ninth month of the year that truly encapsulate’s the mood of Harry Kane and Spurs right now.

Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata Help United Dominate Crystal Palace

Marouane Fellaini is certainly winning over his remaining detractors in the Manchester United fan base. He scored his third and fourth goals in his last five competitions today, helping give United a 2-0 advantage heading into half time versus Crystal Palace. Given that Fellaini missed the midweek trip to CSKA Moscow due to injury, his start was a bit surprising.

Likewise for Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones, who also had suffered minor knocks that had put their status in doubt.

Harry Kane is Burning Up the Premier League, Social Media

It’s no wonder the teammates of Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur are comparing him to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. With yet another brace today, in a 4-0 slaughter of newly promoted Huddersfield Town, Kane continues to impress massively, as he takes control of the Golden Boot race.

The 24-year-old Englishman will now finish September with 13 goals across all competitions this month. (That’s his best individual month ever by the way) Oh, and about those Ronaldo comparisons, well he has an advantage over CR7 in this regard:

Romelu Lukaku Likely Won’t Rest Much Until Zlatan Ibrahimovic Returns

romelu lukaku

Manchester United cannot afford to rest striker Romelu Lukaku right now, says manager Jose Mourinho. No rest for the wicked, or at least not until Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns, which should probably be early in the new year.

“Without Zlatan we cannot rotate the striker, especially because Marcus Rashford is playing also in other positions,” Mourinho said at his weekly news conference on Friday.

Chelsea FC Began as Underdogs, but Now Favored Over Man City

Without a doubt, Chelsea FC hosting Manchester City is the blockbuster Premier League fixture of the weekend. It’s also a game that’s seen the favorite and underdog roles switch places throughout the course of the week.

The Blues started out as underdogs, but after an impressive performance at Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, the bookies have now made them slight favorites.

chayce crouch

All the glorious ties and shared proud traditions of Chicago Bears and Illinois Fighting Illini football were highlighted tonight. It’s the inaugural Hall of Fame weekend at the University of Illinois, and the three biggest names being enshrined are Dick Butkus, Red Grange and George Halas.

All are legends in Bears and Illini football lore, but recalling their glory days isn’t enough to distract you from the current mess in front of us. The past 24 hours have shown us that the Bears and Illinois are once again closely related, but this time it’s a serious problem they share- the QB1 position.

Right now, both teams are severely restrained by a really inferior starting quarterback.

Jurgen Klopp Reveals How Much Brexit Initially Shocked Him

jurgen klopp

Brexit was certainly a shock to the system last summer. Many, if not most of us, simply didn’t see it coming. With a voter turnout of 72% in the United Kingdom, just under 52% voted to leave the European Union and the British exit from the EU was officially on.

According to former World Bank Chief Economist and Vice President Lawrence Summers, Brexit was the first incident in a wave of extremist right-wing populism that is making in roads in the United States (Donald Trump electoral college victory), Germany (Neo-Nazis have returned to parliament) and France (Fascist party performed better than they ever ever).

jurgen klopp

Bah humbug! Seriously, who works on Christmas Eve other than Ebenezer Scrooge? Well, Liverpool and Arsenal Football Clubs might have to, and the situation prompted LFC manager Jurgen Klopp to boisterously speak out.

The schedule hasn’t gone full on Dickensian yet, as the match hasn’t officially been moved from December 23rd to December 24th, but Klopp absolutely slammed the idea of having to play on Christmas Eve.
