Hoosiers’ Yogi Ferrell: if only he wear three inches taller

It’s hard to deny the talent of Indiana Hoosier’s junior guard Yogi Ferrell, make that Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell, and what he has meant to Coach Tom Crean’s team the past couple of years. Ferrell was an absolute stud coming out of high school and was ranked 19th in the country by in 2012.

The McDonalds All-American knew where he wanted to play his collegiate ball and committed to IU during his sophomore year of high school without even visiting the campus.

Bulls need to avoid the Cavs as long as possible in playoffs

CLEVELAND-CAValiersS-LOGO-nba draft lottery

With or without a healthy Derrick Rose, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still probably the front-runner in the Eastern Conference. They’re just so hot right now…like Hansel in Zoolander.

A CSN Chicago poll (so you know it’s extremely biased in favor of the Bulls) asked “Now that Derrick Rose is returning, how far can the Chicago Bulls go?”

Results yielded 40% believing they’ll lose in the first two rounds, 33% believe they’re going to win it all still, while 21% believe the Bulls will fall in the conference final.

Of course, if it was an ESPN poll, the results would be skewed the other way, favoring the Cavs, since ESPN is pretty much Lebron’s publicist.  How far this Bulls team can go depends on which round they’ll have to face Cleveland.

Angel Di Maria admits he’s disappointed since transfer

Angel di Maria is Manchester United’s most expensive player. Therefore, you would think he’d also be their best player. Di Maria broke the British transfer fee record when Old Trafford acquired his services for £59.7 million this summer. He got off to a rip roaring start in Premier League play, often looking like the best player on the pitch.

Then, as injuries mounted, he slowed down and came back to Earth. Perhaps it was a health/fitness issue? Maybe not he’ll be back to 100% himself?

Actually not so much.

Shaq predicts Cavaliers vs Hawks Eastern Conference Finals

lebron shaq dancing nba conspiracy theorists

Shaquille O’Neal has said one of his former teams (and really he has quite a few of those) is going to be there in the end this NBA postseason.  Yes, the Cleveland Cavaliers are the team to beat in the East now, due to the Derrick Rose injury.

Even with Rose, the Cavs probably were the front-runner in the Eastern Conference, because they’re been just so hot lately. Like Hansel in Zoolander

De Gea discredits ‘lies” about his relationship with Van Gaal

Supposedly an extremely frosty relationship exists between Manager Louis van Gaal and goalkeeper David de Gea. This is definitely news to us. We’re quite shocked to hear that actually.

UPDATE: De Gea says these stories are not true actually and discredits them as “lies”

What is the Chicago Bulls ceiling now?

Kirk Hinrich Wizards

Get ready for a steady dose of Kirk Hinrich while Derrick Rose convalesces. If Rose meets the optimistic timetable, 4 weeks, he’ll be back for the final nine games of the regular season. If it takes until the pessimistic mark, 6 weeks, he’ll return for the final three games, and the postseason.

Until then you’ll get a lot of Aaron Brooks, but there will be lots of Hinrich, with a dose of Tony Snell and then maybe a splash of E’Twaun Moore once in a great while. Hinrich might be emblematic of the new expectations (now with Derrick Rose out for 4-6 weeks) for the current Chicago Bulls.

That’s because Hinrich is the only link to the team, the 2006-07 Chicago Bulls, who’s final end result could mirror this season’s.

Kevin Garnett is scaring his teammates (in a good way)

With Kevin Garnett, the 2014-15 Minnesota Timberwolves season has new life. It wasn’t long ago that the T’Wolves had the worst record in the NBA. They have come on stronger as of late, and they won’t make the playoffs, but at least now they are more compelling.

KG, now in his 20th season in the NBA, isn’t what he once was or anything close to it, but he makes this team much more interesting.
