The NASCAR Brickyard 400 will become the Brickyard 420 this weekend with a pro marijuana advertisement to air on the jumbotron in Speedway, IN.
After the Drug Free America Foundation complained about the ad, the company that owns the Jumbotron at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway decided to pull it. No, Indianapolis racing fans will not get to see this PSA advocating a PED, Performance Enhancing Drug. That is, if the performance you want to enhance is consumption of Cheetos or listening to Method Man albums.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway will not showcase this spoof beer ad produced by the Marijuana Policy Project.
The video, which you can watch below, highlights the relative safety of marijuana compared to alcohol by characterizing marijuana as a “new ‘beer'” with “no calories,” “no hangovers,” and “no violence” associated with its use. All very good points; and I don’t really see any holes in its arguments. It makes a solid case that…..uh…..uhmmm…..dude, what we were just talking about? Something about those cars man, right? Whoahhhhhh, broham, those cars are sooo fast man.
Ok, I’ll be serious now. This marijuana ad is correct about alcohol being much more dangerous, and beer being much more hazardous to your health. And I’ve been to Amsterdam on vacation so I know. So NASCAR fans, start your marijuana advocacy engines.
Notice the width of this video is 420. Hopefully the marijuana ad runs at 4:20 PM EST.
