20-year-old Wilfried Zaha has hardly played for Manchester United in Premier League play. He’s only seen action in 2 games and produced 1 shot. Zaha made his first official Manchester United appearance in a Capital One Cup tie against Norwich City, playing 78 minutes before being substituted for Wayne Rooney.
It cost £12 million for United to bring him here from Crystal Palace. Now it looks like a season long loan deal for Wilfried Zaha to Cardiff City is complete. It was reported that Wilfried Zaha had his Cardiff City medical already. However, the team Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær shot that down. There is still some business to be done.
Norwegian striker Jo Inge Berget has been formally announced as a done deal.
Nevertheless, we expect to get a formal announcement from the team at some point this weekend. At one point we heard that up to five Premier League clubs are supposedly interested in Wilfried Zaha, but Crystal Palace is not one of them. Newcastle, West Ham and Fulham were supposed to make a move on Zaha during the January transfer window. Yet, here we are discussing the almost done deal with Cardiff.
Moyes inherited Wilfried Zaha from predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson and it’s clear that Zaha just didn’t fit into his system. He couldn’t even make the reserve XI. Later Moyes would even say that no one is interested in Wilfried Zaha. We know that’s not true now obviously.
Moyes, back in October on why Wilfried Zaha wasn’t playing:
“ I want Wilf to get used to what happens here. The competition is hard. It is just impossible to get all these players a game at the one time. You can only ever play eleven. But it is important Wilf gets to see the level of the training here, the level of the players and the quality they have got. He is getting better, which we are pleased about.”
