Poor Liverpool Football Club- they just can’t catch a break from the schedule makers. First they had a ridiculously unfair “festive period,” having Premier League fixtures against Manchester City and then Sunderland within 48 hours. It was so ridiculous that manager Jurgen Klopp actually let his Liverpool FC players have the option of skipping the back end of the double.
None did. Like Klopp said, “no excuses.”
While that fixture congestion was not by their own doing, the massive, crowded workload ahead of them partially is their own doing.
Klopp decided to field a weaker side for Liverpool’s FA Cup third round tie against Plymouth Argyle yesterday, as he had to rest his starters at some point. The German, and his team, paid the price for it, with the Reds’ (with a lineup boasting an average age of just under 22 years old) result a goalless draw at home versus a league 2 (that’s the fourth tier of English football by the way) side.
Now the Reds must participate in a FA Cup replay on the road; adding to this crazy busy period ahead.
Liverpool FC Schedule the next three weeks

Jan 18 @ Plymouth Argyle, FA Cup
Jan 21 Swansea City, League
Jan 25 Southampton EFL Cup

Starting Wednesday they’ll have three road matches within a week, and overall six competitions in 20 days! Wow!
Dear Liverpool players, be sure to hydrate often and get your sleep at night. Be sure to eat a lot of protein.
