Tottenham and Chelsea Each Place Trio on Belgium World Cup Squad


Belgium have unveiled their 2018 World Cup roster, and it has a very strong English Premier League presence. Nine teams from the British top flight, so nearly half the league, placed at least one player on the Red Devils, with four sides seeing at least two of their players make the 28 man roster.

London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea lead the way, each seeing a triad of their own make the cut, while both Manchester clubs have a duo of players on board.

Tottenham Hotspur Land Five on England 2018 World Cup Squad


England has officially announced the 23-man  roster that they will send to compete in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. If you’re a Tottenham Hotspur fan, then quite likely you’re already an England supporter too. If not as of yet, you probably will be now as Spurs led the way with five selections to manager Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Harry Kane Challenges Mo Salah to Duplicate Heroics Next Season

Liverpool forward Mo Salah had a beyond exceptional, heroically memorable season in 2017-18, and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane took notice. Kane eclipsed the 30 goals scored mark, his most prolific output yet, but it wasn’t enough to win the Golden Boot Award as the Premier League’s top scorer.

That’s because Salah, the PFA and Premier League Player of the Year, broke the scoring record by netting 32 times in 38 times. It broke the previous mark which was held by three men- Cristiano Ronaldo, Alan Shearer and Luis Suarez. Thus, Salah claims the Golden Boot for 2017-18, with Kane looking ahead to potentially reclaiming the honor next season.

Mo Salah Breaks Premier League Scoring Record, Wins Player of the Year

Liverpool forward Mo Salah had a very special, and indeed extremely memorable Championship Sunday. The 25-year-old Egyptian international, already the reigning PFA Player of the Year, scored his 32nd goal of the Premier League season, in a 4-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion that clinched the final UEFA Champions League slot, on the last day of the season, for the Reds.

That goal means that Salah has the Premier League single season scoring now all to himself. He entered the day sharing the record with Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez. Sunday also saw Mo Salah claim the Premier League Player of the Season Award, another honor to go with everything else he achieved this season.

In the spirit of the holiday that just past, May the 4th, there is “a new hope” for embattled Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and his side. In beating Liverpool 1-0 at home today, the Blues upset the balance in the force of the top four race. They’re now only two points behind the pace for a top four finish, but they will need some help to get there.
