Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp hailed the club record his side achieved tonight at the Stadion Ljudski vrt, and expressed pride in doing so. Klopp’s Reds thrashed Maribor 7-0 at their home stadium in Slovenia, and the margin of victory is a new benchmark in European competition for LFC.

It’s the new standard, and one that Klopp believes will be very difficult to someday eclipse.

Jose Mourinho Hits Out at Dejan Lovren Over Romelu Lukaku Accusation

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho met the media today to preview his side’s UEFA Champions League clash at Benfica tomorrow (video of the press conference available at this link) and the tail end of the session got somewhat testy.

Mourinho got defensive when asked about his recent comments in which he said he would not be ending his career at Manchester United, and also hinted at managing Paris Saint-Germain (read his responses to that, and the controversy that ensued over at this link).

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Could Get First Real Liverpool Chance Today

Since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made his £40 million move from Arsenal to Liverpool on summer transfer window deadline day, he’s featured eight times for his new club, but only made one start. That first team appearance came in just the League Cup, so the young Englishman is still truly awaiting a real big time chance with the Reds.

It could come tonight against Maribor in UEFA Champions League group play.

The Ox impressed manager Jurgen Klopp during his cameo appearance in the club’s 0-0 draw with United, and the German hinted at a potential first team opportunity in the making today.

Dejan Lovren Accuses Romelu Lukaku of Deliberately Trying to Injure Him

While the drab goalless draw at Anfield on Saturday certainly lacked fireworks on the pitch, we’ve seen no shortage of entertainment off the pitch since. Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has accused Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku of intentionally trying to injure him.

This follows up on both managers blaming the other for why the game lacked scoring opportunities.

The good news for Manchester United is that they remain unbeaten versus arch-rival Liverpool since 2014. The bad news is that stretch includes some draws, and a couple of the goalless variety. Saturday saw another dull and drab 0-0 result, so football fans had to find entertainment value somewhere.

Credit United Manager Jose Mourinho though- he remains unbeaten at Anfield, and he earned a point today despite missing his top midfielder, top defender and arguably his second best midfielder.
