“If you don’t go to the University of Wisconsin, you’re gonna end up eating government cheese and living in a van down by the river!” – Matt Foley, motivational speaker.
Chris Farley has a message for all the recruits out there:
This old footage was unearthed by the Wisconsin Badgers football program yesterday and posted on their social media. It’s Brilliant. And hilarious. I miss Matt Foley. I miss Chris Farley. He was a comic genius. It was admirable of Melissa McCarthy to try and do the Matt Foley character during Saturday Night Live 40, but it wasn’t even close to being in the ballpark.
Seeing Farley in action here again reminded us of how he was taken away much too soon. (He was just 33). When Farley was found dead of a drug overdose at his Gold Coast apartment in the John Hancock Center in 1997, we all lost a comic genius. His private funeral was attended by 500 people in his hometown of Madison.
