Ranking the Big Ten Football Venues

Our friends over at Midwest Sports Fans.com have ranked the atmosphere at all 11 Big Ten football Stadiums. And Chicago’s two teams, Illinois and Northwestern, did not place well. Actually, their showing was pitiful, 8th and 11th respectively. If you can use the term “respect” in regards to what the writer thought of the Wildcats and Illini home fields- at least in these rankings. Of course, these rankings were compiled by an Indiana University graduate/fan, so take it with a grain of salt. Then again who would know more about crappy, unexciting football than an IU alum?

Either way, be sure to check out the full list by clicking here. There’s lots of cool pictures, YouTube videos, and even the clip of Brutus the Buckeye getting into a fight with a Michigan fan on the sidelines of Ryan Field. Good times indeed.

Ouch. And here I thought we were friends Paul?

For the record, I did not compile the list. It was done by KVB, who is as unabashed and proud a fan of THE Ohio State University as you will ever find.

I am, however, a grad of IU and can say nothing to counter your claim about crappy, unexciting football.

HA HA! Yes, when I first read it, I saw from the byline that it wasn’t your story, but a very well written, and well put together article nonetheless. Even though both my teams got no love, I can’t say much to counter his argument about how ILL and NU ranked. he’s pretty spot on.

There is no way ohio st is better than penn st. and wisconsin. And wisconsin’s fans are so crazy despite having constantly boring and mediocre teams. If wisco ever contended for a national title or even a bcs bowl, the place would be insane.

I agree Wisco football is BORRRRRRRING for the most part, and mediocre. Yet I cant wait to see a game up at Camp Randall, because the atmosphere is electric. it’s electric boogie woogie woogie.

I like it when people make fun of THE in the Ohio State University. Like they think they’re Princeton or something

yeah, I was less than impressed by the Shoe when I went there in ’07… Fans were dull, almost as if they were taking OSU’s success for granted… and it was a close game most of the way… the stadium as a whole was blah minus the McDonald’s McFlurries they served in the press box… brilliant!
