Elin Nordegren Tiger Woods reunion rumors obviously false

elin-nordegren

Is there a Elin Nordegren Tiger Woods reunion brewing? No. CBS and TMZ were both wrong. With Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods both announcing their relationship through social media today. It’s clear that the media read way too much into Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren being photographed together at a youth sports event recently.

The event (a baseball game, possibly?) probably involved one of their two children. So that’s why Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods were seen together.

Tiger Woods ex-wife Elin Nordegren was placed back in the media spotlight a couple months ago; very much against her will. Her current (maybe?) boyfriend financier Jamie Dingman had an affair with Woods mistress Rachel Uchitel. And it possibly happened at the same time Uchitel was hooking up with Woods. Even though this happened before her relationship with Dingman, it grosses out Elin Nordegren. Especially since she found this out via the press; not from her man himself.

Next Superstar to have Positive PEDs Test? Tiger? Pujols? Poll Results

ryan braun

The biggest story of this past sports weekend was the Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.  The NL MVP vehemently denies he took the PEDs but he already seems convicted in the court of public opinion. Given what MLB was from 1994-2009 you can understand why new speculation about steroid use is at an all-time high.

The President’s Cup, Day 1 Results: Tiger gets Tigered by Stevie

It was a gorgeous day in Melbourne, Australia as the International and United States teams began the 9th President’s Cup.

The United States is 6-1-1 all-time in President’s Cup, but their lone defeat occurred on the same course the event is taking place this year. Royal Melbourne is widely considered one of the greatest courses in the world and is a national treasure down under, and once again it takes center stage for an international event.

Five for Fighting: Georgetown Hoyas Brawl Needed these 5 People

The Big East is represented in China at the moment by none other than the Georgetown Hoyas. The supposed goodwill tour recently included a bench clearing brawl. This leaves a black mark for the moment on the university, but as usual John Thompson III has a measured response in not hastily cancelling future contests.

Some more muscle could have assisted the Hoyas in achieving greater success in the melee.

Iron Mike Tyson is a prime example of someone who could have taken care of business on the court with the frenzy. He does have a softer side now as a supposed family man, but he still has to be all kinds of crazy to have that kind of affection for pigeons. If I had that hobby, the last thing in the world that I would be looking to do is broadcast it to the world.

PGA Championship Preview: Can an American End the United States’ Major Drought?

Golf’s origins may have a decidedly Scottish flavor, but over the years it has mainly been an American game. Nearly all of the sports’ legends during its rise to prominence during the middle part of the 20th century were Americans, with rare exceptions like Gary Player and Seve Ballesteros bucking that trend. Toward the end of that century, a new group of foreigners, led by the likes of Lee Westwood, Colin Montgomerie, and Ernie Els took the sport by storm, but the game was still one dominated to a large extent by the red, white, and blue.

Memo to Yankees, Derek Jeter: Not a Leadoff Hitter

derek jeter

With the moral demise of Tiger Woods, Derek Jeter is now the most revered man in all of sports.

Whether he is driving by a fire in a “Rescue Me” trailer or running out to his position in the Bronx, graceful is a word that describes him. The captain is every manager’s dream and Joe Girardi is certainly enamored with him. This is the only explanation why he is still hitting leadoff in that hallowed line-up.

It is much too small of a sample to be conclusive, but Jeter only has two postseason hits so far with no walks. One of the aforementioned singles was even on an “excuse me” swing to shallow right field. During regular season play Jeter did achieve the magical mark of one hundred runs scored; he also was effective in the extra base department with thirty doubles, three triples, and ten home runs. His sixty-three walks helped offset his low batting average of .270. His on base percentage hit .340 according to the sortable stats link at http://yankees.com (This site provided all of the statistics for this piece).

Tiger #1 on Boston Phoenix’s 100 Unsexiest List

Douchebracket Peter Christian Regional

By Peter Christian

We’ve expanded the field to 65 Douchey entities this year, which means only one thing: Play-in game. Yep, you read that right. Of course, I lobbied and begged and pleaded to get the play-in game in my bracket just because I had the perfect matchup of awful that would fit perfectly into a Douchebracket play-in game. It helped that no one else really cared enough to take the play-in game away from me too. Let’s get to that match-up first.

Ron Artest Defends His Pro Tiger Woods Blog Posting

By Paul M. Banks

Right now the anti-Tiger Woods bandwagon is so overcapacity, it’s busted both it’s axles. But there is at least one man out there bucking the trend, and he’s no stranger to polarization himself.

On Tuesday, Los Angeles Lakers star forward Ron Artest publicly stood up for Tiger Woods, saying he has made the same kind of mistakes as Tiger in a 500 word blog post. I talked with him about his post on Tuesday night, just before his Lakers won at Chicago 96-87.

ENOUGH! With Tiger Woods Media Overkill

tigerwoodswhatreallyhappened

By Paul M. Banks

Do we really care that much? Should we care that much? Do we have such empty and meaningless lives that the domestic squabbles of the Woods household matter infinitely more to us than everything else going on in the world? No! Make that NO! NO! NO! At least when the mainstream media was beating the healthcare issue to death, that was something relevant to our lives. Something that mattered. Even though (with the exception of Keith Olbermann) the MSM reported that issue with about as much accuracy as they did the run-up to the pre-emptive war in Iraq. But that’s another story. This time, it’s Michael Jackson all over again. It’s the sports news answer to Michael Jackson. It’s basically nothing but celebrity gossip masquerading as news, and I AM FREAKING SICK OF IT! Can we PLEASE move on to something else? It’s been almost a week now. WHOOOOOOOOO

CARRRRRRRESSSSSSS!

The only remotely interesting things about this story are the snarky by-products resulting from it. Like this Daily Show clip below, the picture at the top of this posting, or this funny, parody news story.
