Milwaukee Brewers t-shirts celebrate Ryan Braun “Innocence”

ryan-braun-innocent

“I’m not that innocent.” Those are the words of the noted Southern American philosopher Britney Spears. And the phrase applies to Milwaukee Brewers slugger and 2011 NL MVP Ryan Braun.

But Ryan Braun is innocent when it comes to PEDs. Or at least he’s not guilty. And a t-shirt company appealing to Brewers fans has something to say about it- using the medium of cotton and polyester.

They released these t-shirts in April of 2012. They probably feel pretty stupid about Ryan Braun today.

Ryan Braun and the Book of Biogenesis: What we know and where we go from here

Milwaukee Brewers Workout

The Milwaukee Brewers’ megastar and MVP-winning outfielder, Ryan Braun, has taken fans to hell and back when it comes to accusations regarding performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).

Just when Brewers nation thought they were in the clear with a player their small market team threw the bank at, Major League Baseball comes roaring back with a 100 game suspension threat.

Whether or not the league office is bluffing or not, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to believe Braun is truly innocent.

Here’s what we know and what the Brewers face in what presumably will be a rocky few months in Milwaukee. [Read more…]

Do you Brewlieve? Milwaukee Brewers are on a truly historic run

With a 4-2 come-from-behind win against the Washington Nationals, the Milwaukee Brewers are a mere 1.5 games out the second wild-card spot in the National League.

Football may have kicked off in 2012, but this Brewers team isn’t done from capturing the excitement and joy which goes along with potential baseball in October.

Here are some notes and nuggets on the Brewers truly historic run. [Read more…]

White Sox A.J. Pierzynski PED Suspension Rumors

Rumors began to swirl on Chicago talk radio and in social media yesterday, that Chicago White Sox catcher, A.J. Pierzynski tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and would begin serving a 50-game suspension immediately, essentially being lost for the season.  With the White Sox clinging to a one-game lead over the Detroit Tigers, losing the veteran catcher for the season would be disastrous.

Josh Hamilton and Matt Kemp Are Threats For The Triple Crown

Matt Kemp and Josh Hamilton

It’s still “early” in baseball terms, but Josh Hamilton and Matt Kemp have done nothing but put on shows. Their superb play has gotten more attention than Philip Humber’s perfect game. Hamilton and Kemp are going for the Triple Crown in their respective leagues. The Triple Crown is revered, by many, to be the greatest single-season accomplishment in all of baseball.

Previewing the Milwaukee Brewers 2012 starting line-up

Over the last decade or so, the Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the best offensive teams in the MLB. With that said, they’ve also been a team on the rise which finally culminated with the squad capturing their division title for the first time in twenty five years last season.

Even though the team has lost slugger Prince Fielder, they remain in the hitter-friendly Miller Park and covet the NL’s reigning MVP in Ryan Braun.

Let’s take a look at the rest of the Brewers’ projected starting line-up in 2012.

Sorting out the Ryan Braun Fiasco; Who were the winners and the losers?

Unlike most of the sports media world, I thought I would sit back and soak up the details before discussing my opinion on the scandal/drug testing fiasco involving the reigning National League MVP and Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun.

Thus far, we’ve heard the results of the appeal, some details involving the test, Braun’s comments and the MLB’s irate feelings on the entire situation.

A lot of questions still linger around Braun’s successful appeal, so let’s take a look at where we are now from three different perspectives; Braun himself, Major League Baseball and the Media. [Read more…]

Why Brewers Fans Should Be Happy for the Detroit Tigers Prince Fielder

On Tuesday, the Detroit Tigers shocked the world by signing free agent and former Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder to a lucrative nine year deal worth $214 million.

As rapper/producer, Kanye West, so eloquently put it, “And if they hate let ’em hate. And watch the money pile up, the good life.”

It’s not uncommon-place to hear people say the Tigers made a ridiculous move, but here’s why Brewers fans should be happy for the guy who established himself as a franchise great in Milwaukee over the past seven years. [Read more…]

Brewers Ryan Braun Accepts MVP Award and References “Adversity”

At the annual Baseball Writers Association of America awards dinner in New York, the Milwaukee Brewers star outfielder Ryan Braun made his first public appearance since ESPN leaked his positive test for a banned substance back in December.

In his speech following the acceptance of the 2011 MVP Award, Braun thankfully didn’t give the award back as ESPN’s Buster Olney suggested earlier in the day, but he did provide some insight on his status through these troubling times.

“I’ve always believed that a person’s character is revealed through the way they deal with those moments of adversity,” said Braun.

Brewers Chase Hitting Sensation Norichika Aoki, Could Mean Ryan Braun Will Sit 50 Games

In what has become a bizarre beginning to the Milwaukee Brewers’ off-season, the notion continues with a $2.5 million bid to win the rights to Japanese Outfielder Norichika Aoki.

Aoki is one of the best hitters in Japan and has posted a .336 career batting average during his first seven seasons.

If the Brewers can strike a deal in the next 30 days, he will join a crowded outfield consisting of Ryan Braun, Corey Hart and Nyjer Morgan. With a deal like this, you can’t happened but wonder whether Braun really will miss 50 games or if a trade involving Hart or Morgan is in the works. [Read more…]

Next Superstar to have Positive PEDs Test? Tiger? Pujols? Poll Results

ryan braun

The biggest story of this past sports weekend was the Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.  The NL MVP vehemently denies he took the PEDs but he already seems convicted in the court of public opinion. Given what MLB was from 1994-2009 you can understand why new speculation about steroid use is at an all-time high.
