Lindsey Vonn Instagram pics of her injured legs (photo)

Will Lindsey Vonn return in time for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi? They begin in less than a year. And if you want to see how damaged her knees are take a look at the Lindsey Vonn Instagram pics of her legs after the jump. (As long as you’re not squeamish)

“My knee looks…um…not very good…. #longskirtsthissummer #ugh” she instagrammed. You can see it on her Facebook page too.

Vonn was airlifted to safety during a crash 8 days ago that caused major damage to her right knee at the Super G World Championships. Lindsey Vonn tore her anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments. She also fractured the tibial plateau. See the crash. (as long as you’re not faint of heart)

Lindsey Vonn wins Downhill World Cup

Lindsey Vonn won her second straight women’s world cup in the downhill today. But there’s another point to this post…how hot she is. And maybe the greater objective of improving Search Engine Optimization. (By the way, I’m currently reading a book on that topic- riveting stuff!)

But let’s just celebrate the fact that she’s ridiculously hot. Like Charissa Thompson, Jenn Brown, Erin Andrews level caliente.

Chilean Earthquake Impacts Lindsey Vonn Training Session

As you might have heard, there was a earthquake in Chile the other day. It was the same exact magnitude as the quake in Virginia a couple weeks ago, but didn’t receive nearly a fraction of the media coverage because

It even affected the training of Lindsey Vonn.

Here’s what Lindsey Vonn tweeted:

Here’s some video of me training GS in Chile yesterday. My training has been going well except for the 5.9 earthquake

Lindsey Vonn Struggles with Injury; Wins Sportswoman of the Year Award

American skier Lindsey Vonn is experiencing the epitome of good news, bad news today. The head injury she suffered severely held her back at the beginning of the downhill skiing season; as her season is going downhill (pun intended). On the flip side, she won an international sportswoman of the year award.

From USA Today:

Lindsey Vonn is clearly not her normal self. Perhaps more worrying, the Olympic downhill champion isn’t sure when she’ll be fully recovered from her head injury.

Attempting to defend her title, Vonn finished a dismal seventh in the super-G that opened the world championships Tuesday, crossing 0.84 seconds behind Austrian winner Elisabeth Goergl.

Vonn lost time at each checkpoint and became increasingly shaky as she went down. On the bottom half of the icy and shady Kandahar course, the American was uncharacteristically wild and struggled simply to maintain her line.

Lindsey Vonn ESPN Magazine Cover Cures American Men of ED

Or at least that’s what it seems like according to “the internets” yesterday. Did ESPN the magazine know, they were going to cause such a media stir with their issue in which sports icons re-enact classic movie scenes? Probably, it seems well-calculated enough.

Lindsey Vonn, the hottest female athlete in history (or something like that) reprised the role of Sharon Stone’s iconic “Basic Instinct” character for a photo shoot. And the excitement was, I’m guessing something like what the ’70s were liek when that Farrah Fawcett poster was first released.

Lindsey Vonn Strives to Continue Dominance

lindsey vonn

A new season of World Cup International skiing is here. And the new season means another chance for America to again become infatuated with Lindsey Vonn, a skier who’s excellence at her sport has reached Michael Jordan level transcendence. Or say the ability of the Bears’ Devin Hester to return kicks. That’s right, it’s skiing season, do you know how to buy ski boots? Do you need a ski boot sizing chart?

Talking about skiing gives me another excuse to post pictures of the Vancouver 2010 star, skiing guru, Red Bull shill and overall gorgeous human being.

As she recently celebrated her 26th birthday, Vonn tweeted this to her 73,000+ followers

I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday it was really nice of you all and it really made my day. Thanks! xo LV :)

I wish she’d tweet me a :) or maybe even a ;) sometime. On to business, it’s a new season and according to the Associated Press, Vonn will now target her own single-season American record of 11 World Cup victories, and beyond that, set her sights on the all-time record of 14 wins in a season, set by Switzerland’s Vreni Schneider in 1988-89.

As the Midwest’s premiere sports website, we are breaking down everything Olympics—from uber good to muy mal.  Yesterday, we brought you the Week 2 Rewind.  Today, it’s the Final Stretch Fast Forward from Vancouver!

Day 14, February 25: Freestyle Skiing and Nordic Combined are on tonight; but Figure Skating takes the cake on NBC primetime.  USA’s Rachel Flatt competes with Gold favorites from Japan and Korea, including James Bond short program winner Kim Nu-Ya.

My suggestion: head to MSNBC for the Women’s Hockey Gold Medal game, USA vs. Canada.  You thought it would happen, you bet money it would happen, now let’s hope you win whatever you wagered and then some.

Wrigley Field Rink Hosts Winter Olympic Sport Demonstrations

By Paul M. Banks

When it comes to Olympic sports, both the city of Chicago and Wrigley Field itself have had the eyes of the world upon them in the past year. Chicago was one of four finalists competing to host the 2016 Summer Olympics before losing out to Rio last October. On New Year’s Day 2009, Wrigley Field hosted one of ice hockey’s premier events, the NHL Winter Classic featuring the hometown Blackhawks versus their hated rival Detroit Red Wings.

On the evening before the Opening Ceremonies for the Winter Olympics, the Chicago Cubs and World Sport Chicago hosted a Winter Olympics kick-off celebration and free community skate at the Rink at Wrigley Field.
