Texas Rangers Josh Hamilton: Best Player in Baseball?

Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks are kings among sports fans in the Dallas-Fort Worth area right now. But I would argue that the primary beneficiary in the NBA Finals was actually American Airlines, since both arenas in the series are named after the carrier.

However, it’s Josh Hamilton, left fielder for the Texas Rangers, who is probably the most talented athlete in the Metroplex. He is such a natural freak, which we haven’t seen since the early days of Ken Griffey Jr. Long before he was sleeping in dugouts.

Should the Chicago White Sox Get Manny Ramirez?

As we creep ever closer to the September 1st waiver trade deadline, the Chicago White Sox have some tough decisions to make.  They sit 4.5 games in back of the Twins, with arguably a tougher schedule remaining: ten games alone against the Yankees and Red Sox and another west coast road trip that historically has poor results.  With the offense sputtering, is it time for GM Kenny Williams to take a chance on an offensive spark?  If so, is there any spark bigger than Manny Ramirez?

MLB and Seattle Mariners icon Ken Griffey Jr. is coming dangerously close to seeing his career end. He had a chance to ride out into the sunset at the end of last season, when his Mariners teammates lifted him on their shoulders at Safeco Field last autumn. Instead, he’s pulling the whole MJ-as-a-Wizard thing; sticking around WAY TOO LONG. And now he can’t even stay awake during games. Even Jordan’s tenure in D.C. wasn’t as bad as Griff’s 2010 season.
