Purdue fans finding silver lining in loss of WR Keith Smith

Well, we’ve had since Saturday afternoon to digest the news, and with the offense mired in 2001 levels of suck it doesn’t feel like as big of a deal. Still, official word came today. Keith Smith, the Big Ten‘s most prolific receiver and possibly the best in the country, is done for the season. GBI released the news this afternoon that Keith Smith was done for the year with a torn ACL and MCL.

Big Ten’s Leading Receiver, Purdue’s Keith Smith, Out for Season

In Purdue’s victory over the mighty Leathernecks of Western Illinois, the Boilermakers suffered a HUGE loss. Fifth-year wide receiver Keith Smith, who led the Big Ten in receiving last year, will miss the remainder of the season after suffering torn medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments in the fourth quarter of Purdue’s 31-21 win over WIU on Saturday.
