Alleged Child Molestor Jerry Sandusky Actually Has Supporters

A few years ago I attended a play about Benedict Arnold. Being a Revolutionary War buff, I enjoy these kinds of things, but I had no idea the theme and moral of the stage show would influence my future writing as much as it does. The play went through the story of how Arnold stabbed the American colonists in the back by giving up Fort Ticonderoga to the British.

Specifically, the play focused on why he did it: Arnold felt he was repeatedly passed over for promotions that he believed he deserved, he kept putting up his own front money for his army and going broke, the Colonial regulars didn’t reimburse him, he had a young mercenary trophy wife who was demanding, you get the idea.

The point is the man is deservedly synonymous with the concept of “TRAITOR!” for the length of American history. So we only know him as pure evil, but there’s always another side to the story.

Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, the right hand man to Joe Paterno is an alleged child rapist. If guilty of what he’s accused (and I believe he’s guilty as sin, I’ll be extremely outraged if the Pennsylvania courts let him walk) then he really is the lowest form of human life; a disgusting vile subcreature.

Jerry Sandusky Denied Coaching Job Last Year; Harassed College

jerry_sandusky

The big news today concerning Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was how he stunned a packed courtroom by backing out of a preliminary hearing at the last minute, avoiding a face-to-face confrontation with accusers.

Sandusky pleaded not guilty and vowed afterward to “stay the course, to fight for four quarters.”

He waived his right to a preliminary trial, and decided to let the case go straight to trial.

But more overlooked, and very important is the fact that Sandusky applied to be a college football coach, on a volunteer level, just last year. And he was denied because he left out the fact that he was being investigated on the application forms.

And then when he was denied he couldn’t just leave the college alone.

Penn State Campus Now Rioting, Demonstrating (Photos)

In a span of five days, we’ve seen the Penn State Nittany Lions sex scandal go from breaking news story, to earth-shattering scandal to surreal,”take a moment to remember where you are” type of media circus.

And it’s perfectly understandable, since new information breaks every hour, and the situation gets darker, weirder, sadder and indicative of the worst elements in human nature every time news breaks.

Now the students in University Park have taken to the streets, yes they are demonstrating, rioting. Yes rallying and taking grassroots political action supporting Joe Paterno. Now that JoePa has been fired, that town is going to burn.

Here are some photos:

On Tuesday, Mark Viera and Pete Thamel of the New York Times reported that Penn State University is planning the resignation of long-time Head Coach Joe Paterno. We learned today that it will happen at the end of the 2011 season. JoePa will indeed step down; but not until finishing the seaon.

Penn State had to make some heavy decisions these past 24 hours as the Jerry Sandusky scandal has snowballed into one of the biggest stories in college football history.

Penn State Pedophile Cover-Up: Time for PSU Football to Clean House!

Jerry Sandusky’s Book entitled “Touched,” Getting Deservedly Slammed on Amazon

In the wake of the Penn State sex scandal, the fact that a book called Touched, the story of Jerry Sandusky’s life in his own words, still sits on Amazon’s virtual bookshelf is both disturbing and horrid.

This disgusting coincidence is highlighted by many Amazon “book reviewers.” We’ll show some of the best best book reviews after the jump. Sandusky’s autobiography highlights his college football career and his involvement in children’s charities, including the founding of his charity, “Second Mile.”

Which we all know now he used to find his vulnerable boys to prey upon and sodomize (allegedly).

Joe Paterno Did Minimum Required Legally; Fell WELL SHORT Morally

What’s going on in Penn State right now is a lot more than a college football scandal. It’s a lot more than a Penn State University scandal. It’s an evil, and complicity to evil so large in its scope that it transcends both football and education. The case of criminal pedophile Jerry Sandusky is a world-turning story that includes, but also goes well beyond the man with the most wins in college football history.

But it’s more than a college football story.

And it’s clear now that the legacy of Joe Paterno, one of the most iconic figures in the sport’s history, is ruined forever. And JoePa earned it, through the sin of omission, rather than the sin of commission.

Penn St. Duo Steps Down; AD, VP Allegedly Complicit to Child Sex Abuse Case

(Breaking: Penn State Athletic Director Tim Curley and Vice President Gary Schultz will step down while they defend themselves on charges of perjury)

Very disturbing, scandalous and unhappy news out of Happy Valley today. The Penn State football team is on bye this week; but their program is making bigger headlines than on any given autumn Saturday.

Yesterday, it was announced that former Nittany Lions Defensive Coordinator Jerry Sandusky was indicted on charges that he sexually abused eight young men. He was arrested Saturday.

(BREAKING: Grand Jury Report released: What did Joe Paterno know? And when did he know it?)

Also, Penn State athletic director Tim Curley and Penn State vice president for finance and business Gary Schultz are expected to leave State College and go to the state capitol of Harrisburg on Monday. They are facing charges of perjury and failure to report under Pennsylvania’s child protective services law in connection with the investigation into the abuse allegations against Sandusky.

What Did Joe Paterno Know Regarding Penn State Child Sex Abuse Case?

When it comes to the cover-up of any crime, the question all legal professionals first seek answers to is “what did he know and when did he know it?”

As we posted earlier, former Nittany Lions Defensive Coordinator Jerry Sandusky was arrested on charges that he sexually abused eight young men.

Also, Penn State Athletic Director Tim Curley and Penn State vice president for finance and business Gary Schultz are facing charges of perjury and failure to report under Pennsylvania’s child protective services law in connection with the investigation into the abuse allegations against Sandusky.

So when there are charges of this nature surrounding a high profile program like Penn State, the next question is what did the coach know and when did he know it? In college football, programs ARE their head coach. When that coach is Joe Paterno, the all-time leader in coaching wins, the information becomes even more sought after.

What you’ll see in the grand jury report will no doubt adversely affect the legend of JoePa.
