Hoop junkies like myself are already looking ahead to next season so allow me to present to you my updated way too early 2012-2013 preseason Top 25 college basketball rankings.
So here is my preliminary preseason Top 25 college basketball rankings for next season. I have updated these rankings since the NBA Draft early entries list is complete and a number of transfers have since been announced. There is still one major x-factor out there, the undecided Andrew Wiggins who is the #1 prospect in the 2013 class. Leave a comment below if you think a team is too high, too low, not getting enough respect, or if you notice an error in a projected roster. Welcome to The Sports Bank’s second annual college basketball season preview series. Last year we looked at 99 teams in 99 days. This year, we are being slightly more aggressive and expanding to 111 teams in 111 days. We will rank the 74 power conference teams and top 37 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order. We’ll break down rosters, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.
With all five starters back including the best frontcourt in the country, it is easy to see why North Carolina opens the season at #1 in our college hoops rankings. The Tar Heels tip-off their campaign to cut down the nets this evening when they take on Michigan State as part of the Carrier Classic. (By the way… HURRAH to me for making it… 111 team preview in 111 days!)

Am I really doing a NBA Draft Stock Report on kids that have not even graduated from high school and will not be eligible for the draft for another year? Yup.
The McDonald’s All-American Game is like the Super Bowl for high school basketball players with NBA scouts flooding the United Center to get a look at some of the potential top prospects for the 2012 NBA Draft. Even though it is a lot like the NBA All-Star Game– nothing more than a glorified pick-up game where defense is usually non-existent, it’s still a great venue to see how some of the top recruits stack up against equally talented players.
Besides, when I went to the 2008 game in Milwaukee, I fell love with Tyreke Evans’ game and started praising his pro potential. And well, that turned out okay didn’t it? Here are some players who really stood out and should be top prospects in the 2012 draft.
