Karl Klug: your under the radar Iowa Hawkeye

August 24, 2010 By paulmbanks

karl klug

Last season, the Iowa Hawkeyes may have been the least flashiest 9-0 team in BCS era history. A lot of their wins were Chloe Kardashian level ugly, and none of their talented players were truly household names. They had talent everywhere, just not at the highly-publicized skill positions. Their best overall players were linebackers and offensive linemen. When I asked people … [Read more...] about Karl Klug: your under the radar Iowa Hawkeye

Iowa’s Clayborn on Football agents and NFL Draft Decisions

August 16, 2010 By paulmbanks

Iowa's Adrian Clayborn is more than just a top #5-#15 NFL Draft prospect. He's an interesting interview, and a candid young man with stand-up character. He was the highlight of Big Ten Media Day 2; partially because he was so candid about the transitional process from college to professional football. "The coaches sit down, and we have a talk with a guy from a program … [Read more...] about Iowa’s Clayborn on Football agents and NFL Draft Decisions

Big Ten Tournament Preview, Predictions

March 11, 2010 By paulmbanks

By Jeff Ghiringhelli, Paul M. Banks, David Kay, Jake McCormick It's all about the NCAA Tournament bubble. That is typically the main storyline in power conference tournaments such as the Big Ten. The teams at the top of the conference (Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan State, and Wisconsin) are all locks for the Big Dance. Teams such as Illinois and Minnesota will likely need two … [Read more...] about Big Ten Tournament Preview, Predictions

Big Ten Power Rankings: less BS than the BCS

October 6, 2009 By paulmbanks

By Paul M. Banks 1. Iowa (5-0, 1-0) The first BCS rankings of the season will debut in 12 days, and with that in mind, I’d like to do my part to help keep the Buckeyes from making another National title game where they could embarrass the conference and bore America by getting destroyed by an SEC team again. For that reason, I voted them #2 in this week’s poll. 2. Ohio … [Read more...] about Big Ten Power Rankings: less BS than the BCS

Big Ten Power Rankings Week 5

September 29, 2009 By paulmbanks

jim tressel

By Paul M. Banks 1. Ohio State (3-1, 1-0) Buckeyes post back-to-back shutouts for first time since 1996, and are starting to look like the best team in the conference. Again. Eventually making this year...well, so FUN and EXCITING that I just had to get up and dance (see picture above)! Ok, seriously,  yet another OSU conference title would really suck for ratings; for … [Read more...] about Big Ten Power Rankings Week 5

Big Ten Tournament Preview and Predictions

March 10, 2009 By paulmbanks

By Paul M. Banks When the 12th Annual Big Ten Men’s basketball tournament tips off Thursday morning it will feature one of the deepest fields in recent years. If a couple of the bubble teams make a strong showing at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, as many as nine teams could have a case to be in the big dance occurring the following week. One thing I can’t figure out … [Read more...] about Big Ten Tournament Preview and Predictions
