Notre Dame-Michigan to kick off at night again; ND spring game televised


It seems kind of ridiculous that a college football spring game would be televised live, because hey, it’s spring football. But this scrimmage is Notre Dame. The 83rd annual Blue-Gold Spring Football Game will be broadcast live at 1:30 p.m. ET Saturday, April 21, on NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus).

The University of Notre Dame has announced kickoff times for its six home football games for the 2012 season–as well as for its season opener against Navy in Dublin, Ireland, and for its off-site home game at Soldier Field in Chicago. Notice the Michigan Wolverines rivalry tilt is at night again:

Manti Te’o Returns to Notre Dame; Puts NFL Draft on Hold


Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o has decided to hold off on the NFL money for now. The junior will return to South Bend for his senior season, Te’o announced Sunday night at the Lott IMPACT Trophy banquet.

In midseason he tweeted “Playin for my bros and that’s it!!!!” And this was during the same week Brian Kelly made public comments segregating players he recruited from those recruited by Charlie Weis. So it was widely previously expected that Te’o was gone.

Notre Dame Could Struggle in 2012, Brian Kelly’s Seat Warming?


Yesterday was a big day for the Notre Dame football team on the field, as they absolutely thrashed Navy 56-14, routing a team that has had their number in recent years. But being mediocre and routing somebody bad doesn’t cover up the larger issues at work in South Bend.

This week marked the one-year anniversary of Declan Sullivan‘s death. If you forgot that name, it’s the Notre Dame videographer who took to his scissor lift in historically dangerous windstorm conditions, and paid for that mistake with his life.

This was a week when the school could have really used more positive publicity; but instead more negativity surrounded the program.
